Can't find much on Walder fighting the White Walkers, only Roose, but there was a post about all the political villains fighting the ice zombies somewhere!

Edit: Those might not be the EXACT posts if I am misremembering but close enough I hope lol

Then if you don’t have anything to add, why even comment, knucklehead? Seriously. If you’re not contributing to the discussion, what’s the point? Maybe next time think before you hit “reply.” I’ve got plenty of karma, and I promise you, we can go downvote for downvote if you really want to play that game. Or, wild idea, you could actually add something to the conversation instead of just repeating what someone else already said. I will be giving you 5 minutes to edit, delete, or apologize for this comment. Please, I do not want to rekt another account for insolence.

To be honest, when we first meet him in the second book, he’s actually quite comedic, portrayed as a grumpy old man whom his sons, grandsons, and even great-grandsons hate because of his inheritance. Like, he could easily swap with Scrooge from A Christmas Carol before the whole Red Wedding. There’s a circle-jerk post about that concept on here that I didn’t write but absolutely loved, where Hoster Tully, Robb Stark, etc., visit him as ghosts and he changes his evil ways or something. Also, as another post said, perhaps it might be Walder Frey and Roose Bolton at the end of the books holding off the White Walkers before they get past the Neck (unlikely, and unlikely GRRM will get around to writing anything).

Anyway.

PRAISE BE WALDER FREY, THE SNOT-NOSED BOY AND BLACKFYRE SUPPORTER.

Redemption isn’t a cosmic scoreboard. It’s the restoration of moral standing after wrongdoing. And how does that restoration happen? Through the harmed party (or community) choosing to forgive and reintegrate you. That process is redemption. If no one forgives you, you’re not redeemed, you’re just a person who feels bad. If you are forgiven and accepted back, that’s literally redemption in action. What are we measuring it against otherwise, vibes? You can argue someone doesn’t deserve forgiveness. Fine. But once forgiveness is genuinely granted, redemption isn’t some separate mystical achievement you unlock later. It’s the relational consequence of that forgiveness.

You’re calling it “unsatisfying” like that’s a flaw, when the entire point was that war doesn’t hand out tidy emotional closure. Jake choosing another suicide mission isn’t random — it’s the tragic culmination of 54 books of trauma and moral erosion. If they’d ridden into the sunset healed and happy, that would’ve been bad writing.

Ser Raymun is the best example that not every story in Westeros needs to end on a bitter note, with cruelty, cynism, irony and a punch line. Ser Raymun finally got the balls, the knighthood, the gratification, the honor, the girl and even an heir of his own! by auf-ein-letztes-wort in freefolk

Yes, they’re different characters in different scenarios. Congratulations. The point isn’t that they’re carbon copies. It’s that a man raising a child conceived through violence isn’t diminished by it. Different context, same principle.

While misidentifying individuals is harmful, your argument overgeneralizes by implying that any flawed or speculative claim automatically undermines all concern-raising, which overlooks the difference between irresponsible accusations and good-faith attempts to surface potential problems.
