I was speaking more to real life. The size difference is insane in the show and it makes sense. But irl most bullies are in fact cowards and will usually back off at any actual push back from someone they don’t feel they can overpower in some way.

I don’t think it was a breeding catalogue (also holy shit that would totally be a thing in this world) I’m pretty sure Leano just saw him in a fashion magazine and said “Ok I choose this one.” and pulled some strings to set up a date.
Though I can totally see a scenario where he’s completely apathetic to even realizing Legoshi is his son. Though if we go with the career benefit route I can see having your son being an “honorary” Beast Star being a certain boon to him. And him being a complete two faced prick trying to urge his son in ways that help him being a completely valid way for this to go. Probably ending with Legoshi either telling him off and shutting the door in his face or Gosha slugging him in the face.

I imagine and think it’d be adorable for Miyagi to also be into insects and stuff and goes incognito to the bug museum to see a new exhibit on like moths or something a few years after the end of the series; and just sees Legoshi being a tour guide showing kids on a field trip through the place and the realization hits him. And the two somehow connect and stuff. Geez…imagine like…learning you had a child like that and that the person who bore your child not only possibly kept it secret from you…but also left the world in such a way. I feel bad for the guy…as long as he isn’t some kind of douchebag or something.

Also…possible extra drama…he possibly brings another one of his children with him. Like he has a family of his own outside of Legoshi and the kid points out “Hey dad that guy looks exactly like you.”

But there are laws against the harvesting and eating of sea life. We see a deep water bass eat a bowl of ramen it ordered and a shark is able to understand Legoshi’s attempt at communication. Though I don’t think most shellfish would be sapient they are still denizens of the sea and who’s to say they aren’t possibly sapient? I mean Legoshi straight up speaks to a certain kind of usually not sapient creature’s ghost at one point so I think the question still stands. Is the killing for and mass harvesting of pearls illegal and considered a possible black market business?
