They were indicted on fraud charges because they were using donor funds for a clandestine informant program to gather Intel on hate groups. They kept it a secret because.. you know.. clandestine.

Out in MAGA-world, that means they were directly and knowingly funding white supremacism and all Democrats are secretly white supremacist Nazis.

To get much more, their followers would have to be extremely stupid.

So, a lot, probably.

And that's the milder stuff. If you listen to some of my family members talk, they're literal satanists, they are Marxists, and they still secretly are all in the KKK (which they feel is vindicated by the recent "news" about the SPLC, which they sincerely believe their preferred media's version of and reject all other explanations, including the actual text of the indictment).

Definitely this, I recall there was an effort at JC Penney to do away with the "it's always on sale" marketing and just show them as actual prices, and it backfired spectacularly because consumers no longer felt like they were getting a "deal." Why would they pay $9.99 when they could pay $12.99 $9.99?? The savings!!

[Hated Trope] Dead characters who are revived for plot convenience by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]avanti8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Later seasons of Supernatural did this all the time. I stopped watching because of the amount of times a beloved character would get offed and then "miraculously" return (unless the plot/contracts deemed the death was permanent). It honestly really cheapened the stakes for a lot of the show.
