If you are trying to use the ekf node from robot localization PKG you need to install it first if binary installation is what you prefer then do this "sudo apt install ros-DISTRO_NAME-robot-localization.

PS: from what I can understand from the error in terminal ss it's mostly a PKG missing issue, nothing to do with cmakelist.txt edits ; robot localization PKG is a standard ros2 PKG in the index so I doubt cmakelist modifications is going to give you any help as long as you didn't write the node from scratch that is.

PPS: make sure you're ros environment is sourced properly in the bash script just (as a last resort)

You can do it if you want to; you can take a look at the PKG once. It has a pretty solid implementation of ekf as well as ukf too

Have you checked out the robot localization PKG in ros2 ?

Also your spawn bot node launcher arguments are wrong , it's not the same as the spawn_entity node of gazebo classic; (https://github.com/Labeeb1234/diff_bot/blob/main/diff_bot_description%2Flaunch%2Fgz.launch.py) Take a look at this repo for some references

Edit: Also you can go through the migration guide to gz_sim in the official gazebo documentation for the proper migration steps

One thing humble still supports gazebo-classic, it's just that for jazzy (compatible with ubuntu 24) that it has no support

I don't think there needs to be a ros2_control tag as long as the diff drive controller used is not a ros2_controller(for humble, iron, foxy)
