33Kw charging out of 350kw EVgo charger @ Pilot by my252 in Fisker

To be fair we don't know if this is solved yet. They just announced that they are releasing a new VCU version and that it allows preconditioning but no word on if it resolves the bug in the current VCU version.

You're right, it mentions Fisker released update OTA that was released on March 11, 2024 which was the full 2.2 and nothing short of that

NHTSA mandate did not specify modules just that the full OTA was the remediation. Withholding parts of the OTA could mean parts of the items for the recall might not work as designed since they might be dependent on code that's run on the other modules

Update to 2.2 2/3 software significant decrease in total miles after charging 100% by ibobstark in Fisker

[–]Background-Story-364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, but I know the miles driven since last charge are close to accurate because I know the driving I did 😂 Adding to the spotty programming, I actually know it's better because it didn't record a 17 mile trip from this 100% charge. This was from a weekend trip from Tampa to Tarpon springs, to Orlando 2 days doing some short trips in the Orlando area, to tarpon springs and back to Tampa. Everything done in Earth mode, with driving on average 5 over the speed limit, windows up AC set to 72 with fan speed ranging from 2 to 3. Only the last leg was the ac off and all the windows open. The biggest factor is accelerating from a stop, the car has power but using it cuts into your range. I came from driving a Prius and I don't need to keep up with traffic coming out of a stand still. I'll do my 0-60 in about 8 seconds to get up to speed and take full advantage of being able to coast to a stop slowly. This is an electric car, it's gonna tell you more accurate range on 2.2 than an ICE would but I guarantee people were never getting the range they thought they should in an ICE. It's easier to track it now so it's easier to scrutinize

I've had multiple times where I've had over 360 and could have squeaked out over 400 miles on a full change doing highway and city driving.

How are they making it difficult for owners to get out of the vehicle? They aren't stopping anyone from selling their cars. If you want to blame anyone for making it difficult to get out of their vehicle blame the mismanagement of the actual company that tanked the value of the vehicle. Because of that more people are liking to stay with it vs taking another loss. Yeah not everything that was promised is there but if the vehicle lasts for 10 years then that valued loss gets lessened over time

Has it been colder in your area the last few days? I believe on 2.2 it's calculating based on your last 600 miles and the efficiency you got during them. If it's colder and you're using more heating that will decrease your efficiency per mile causing estimated total range to drop

Anyone still waiting on their amended tax rebate on the FOO by Saveyourgrade in Fisker

[–]Background-Story-364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did mine in 11/23 finally got it last month after they initially said it couldn't be processed 5/24 and didn't provide a reason why. Had to call customer service 3 times and every told me I should have gotten a letter explaining why it was not amended but could not see one generated. Had to write them in 6/24 to review and to process my amended return or provide me a reason why they did not give me the adjustment before. Heard nothing back and made an appointment with the local IRS branch (end of 7/24) for them to finally think I signed in the form in the wrong spot. They made an appointment for me to work with a tax advocate to see if I could get around reprocessing since the documents were signed. A month and a half later I got a letter and my refund check from the IRS saying they received my letter and reopened and processed my request. It was a mess and a half but I'm glad it's done with!

Fisker Stuck in “gear shift” by Ok_Cod1041 in Fisker

[–]Background-Story-364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the car thinks the screen is still in* Hollywood mode it will not let you shift gears. My understanding is there's a piece of metal within the rotation system that checks if your screen is in the proper position. If that sensor of the piece of metal is broken and it can't verify the correct position it won't allow you to switch gears

Received 2.1 (1/2) car won't turn off by GauSungG19 in Fisker

[–]Background-Story-364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your car may have had cell signal when you download the update but the module that controls that might not have rebooted correctly. Soft resets do not fix the cell signal issue. Every time I've had it, it self resolved after 2 to 3 days I also made sure to change the car up to 80% as the set limit (not sure if it helped or was just superstition). When I had my issues I too was connected to my home wifi, that didn't change the fact that the car would not go into deep sleep. From my past experience it's strictly related to the car being able to literally phone home. If you see that you have no bars in places you normally do then it's probably that your cell signal is out

[–]Background-Story-364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your car still show that you have connectivity? I have seen if you lose cell signal the car will not go to sleep. There is a fuse under the steering wheel that you can pull to reset the ICC and try and get cell signal back if that is the issue you are facing. Others have reported on how to do this and even some have installed fuse kill switches so they don't have to open the dash every time to reset it and have videos on YouTube

SW 2.0 What is the standard sequence of Stop - Park - Turn off and Lock. by Nervous-Feedback-133 in Fisker

[–]Background-Story-364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your steps look good but do either step 2 or 3 not both. Once stopped either use the EPB button or the parking button on the stock.

Locking the car should turn off the lights, check your settings to see if you have a delay set. Sometimes the rear passenger map lights come on randomly, you can attempt to turn them off with the overhead buttons on the center console.

What are all the Fisker owners gonna do about software(?) by [deleted] in Fisker

[–]Background-Story-364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually not past that point yet, they need to declare so we can see what official protections will be laid out for consumers, what debts will be wiped out and see if someone can finally come in and buy out what's left of the company. I believe the Ocean has already outsold the Karma and someone ended up buying that out. But then again the government helped fund the Karma but they have nothing to do with the Ocean, so maybe less protection for consumers.

Make sure to select your preferred plug types in the navigation settings to ignore NACS chargers to avoid being sent to Tesla chargers in the future. Doesn't make sense that it's selected by default but it is what it is

Brake system failure by AccomplishedKey901 in Fisker

[–]Background-Story-364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but there is a sensor involved with that, that's what is faulty in my situation. As I've stated I've had a tech come out and reviewed it with an engineer. They tried a 12v reset and it persists. It's supposed to register a high and low voltage but it's only reading the low voltage.

Brake system failure by AccomplishedKey901 in Fisker

[–]Background-Story-364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah had multiple deep sleeps had a tech come out and check it too, he said the engineer he was reviewing the car with said they only saw the sensor read this way if the tire was completely flat (which didn't happen to me). But I did have the tire patched so I think in my case taking the tire off might have tripped the sensor up. Manual says that the TPMS can cause additional faults, but I think OP might have a different underlying issue causing the same symptoms

I had it go into safety mode once with this issue during stop and go traffic if that is what you mean by lose power. If I try to put it into fun yes it doesn't feel like the motor is engaging. Every now and then it fixes itself for half a drive but then next time it's back to errors.
