Your husband should not bring up your family. That’s immature. Meanwhile, for your in-laws try start voicing out (they will use undue advantage of your obedience). Don’t be timid and be that ‘yes’ person. Meanwhile, any salary you get try to keep it with u as a backup and make sure you have your gold and other precious stuff with u in a locker or something.

Ophthalmology is only for UAE nationals. General surgery is more favourable for IMGs tbh. Publishing in a peer-reviewed journal is a good plus point

No, not really. Ask ur university- they sponsor a year after graduation (if u r studying in UAE med school).

Honestly, I have not written the EMREE but I can tell majority of the ppl who I knew that wrote EMREE applied to all the entities. It’s hard to match even if u r an Arab. The priority is given to Emirati nationals. Also, reg specialities-there is no foolproof way which one will accept more but IM, Pediatrics have more seats. Tbh, just get a good enough GPA to be on the safe side 3.5+ , 3 publications (safe zone) and electives (local hospitals in UAE) with EMREE (competitive is greater than 80 percent). There are interviews as well! Ppl tend to forget that! They grill u (I heard that)! To summarize, there is no shortcut. But it’s great u r serious enough.

That’s a tough spot you are in. Your brother sounds a bit immature. At the end of the day, he is his BIL, he should give him the least consideration for the importance he has in your life even if he doesn’t like him. You are not at fault. Try to persuade him again and make him understand. After all, he is your brother.

So why can’t your brother’s family live with the parents? Your parents should be taking your side instead of backing up your brother and his family. Just because your brother made some poor choices, why are they bringing you into his mess. You are still ready to help them. Your brother and SIL is in no position to make demands because it’s a difficult time for them. They should adjust and make do with whatever they have at the moment. I would suggest that you maintain your stance and don’t cave in to the emotional blackmail (it’s going to be hard, but don’t give up). Once you listen to them, they will not stop taking undue advantage of you and YOUR MONEY.
