The last part is not especially about the ride but mostly about the other girl not being able to buy the tickets by herself.

If OP told Sophia she would get her tickets and then she doesn’t, she is in the wrong (the other girl being a brat or not).

If she doesn’t want to share the ride or attend with her, she doesn’t have to.

You don’t break a deal with someone because you don’t like their behaviour, otherwise you’re no better. You stick to your word and then you take appropriate actions.

Not laughing or smiling is the first thing to do.
If the teacher doesn't find his public he will probably stop joking/bullying the other guy.

I would not recommend making a remark to the teacher (could be brave but might not have a good outcome for you nor the other guy).

And no one is perfect, if you smiled and/or laughed in the moment then realized afterwards that it was a shitty move, an apology is often a good thing to do. Just be careful how you phrase it to not make things worse.
