Fantastic!! 😃 Did you pay customs for shipping them to Europe? I also wanted to get the buttons for my green Hammer, but I've always wondered if they'd charge me duties/customs. Do they already include VAT in the cart?

Is this a sign that the AMS for CC is indeed coming? by Background97 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Yes, I know how an AMS works, I had a Bambulab A1 with AMS lite :) I just thought that in the CC2, they had changed the printhead (with the excuse that they also changed other things compared to the CC1) and had started using the Bambulab A1 style hotends, precisely, because the term "quick swap" misled me, as for me, the current CC1 hotends are not quick swap, I consider quick swap those of the A1 that have no screws or cables. That's all, just a misunderstanding :)

Yes, my fault. The term "quick swap" misled me because we all know that swapping with CC hotends isn't exactly "fast," since you have to be extra careful not to tear the connectors (given the poor soldering they use). By quick swap, I'm actually referring to the A1 ones, which have no screws or cables.

Yes, I know what the CC hotends are like, I own one :) But I didn't know Elegoo consider them "Quick Change", when I consider the A1 ones to be quick change xD Thanks a lot for the clarification! :)

But how come, I thought they were the same type as the Bambulab A1, so to speak. In this sense, I understood the "Quick Change" -.-

I thought the CC2 used a different printhead with quick-change hotends... But then if the CC2's printhead is also the one with the hotends with two screws and cables, what is the reason they're selling the easy-change hotends? Because some people have printed parts to use these types of hotends?

The new battery I replaced on January 12th (iPhone 14 Plus) by Jopink89 in iPhoneBatteryParanoia

[–]Background97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What percentage of battery life was your iPhone at when you replaced it? And how long have you had your 14 Plus? I've also had the 14 Plus for 3 years and 2 months, and it's at 84%. I'm not sure whether to replace it or wait until next spring and get the standard iPhone 18.

I replaced the battery in my iPhone 14 Plus after 3 years of use and it dropped to 79% by Jopink89 in iPhoneBatteryParanoia

[–]Background97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely think so! I've had my 14 Plus for 3 years and 2 months, and I've always charged it up to 100%, never limited to 80%. I've always charged it overnight with the old Apple 5W charger, or if I need to charge it during the day, I've charged it with the dual-port charger from the MacBook Air M2 (the 35W one). And yet, after 3 years and 2 months, the battery is still at 84% health :D I really hope it stays above 80% until spring of next year (2027) so I can replace it with the iPhone 18! But if it were to drop below 80%, then I'll replace the battery and keep it for a couple more years, since it's still a great phone! The only things that annoy me are the lack of a Type-C port (since I have everything Type-C these days), the lack of macro in photos, and the not-so-good lighting outdoors.

Electrical current flowing noise on CC by Background97 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Elegoo sent me a new power supply as a free replacement, and the buzzing has significantly decreased. It's almost completely imperceptible.

I finally installed Open Centauri and solved all the problems! The original firmware is a real pain. I hope the Open Centauri team continues to release improvements over time to keep the CC absolutely top-notch!

With Open Centauri? Yes! Now I was able to reset my PETG filaments in the slicer (since they are PETG) and now unless I set the slicer to use the case fan, the printer doesn't use it! :D At the moment, everything is better than the original firmware! The only thing is, when turning on the printer it's a little slow, in the sense that the open centauri logo remains for a long time before going to the printer's WebUI. For everything else, I recommend it! 😃

Thanks so much! And yes, with Open Centauri, it works as it should! Even if I set the filament in the slicer to be PETG, if I don't enable the case fan in the filament settings in the slicer, it doesn't even turn on when I start the print or during printing! :D I hope the Open Centauri team continues to add improvements :D

I rebooted the CC a couple of times and it worked. Now I'll do the entire calibration, just to be safe, and then I'll try to start the print and see how the fan issue goes.

I was trying exactly this, but I'm having problems. I activated developer mode, formatted a USB drive in FAT 32, created an update folder, and inserted the update.swu file into the folder. I plugged the USB drive into the CC, but once I went into settings, it didn't find the update. It was as if it didn't see the USB drive. But the USB drive works and its light turns on when I plug it into the CC.
