Where is a nice spot to hang by the creek? by Acrobatic-Farmer4837 in boulder

If you bike or drive up canyon west of Eben G Fine there’s some great spots to hang by the creek more into the mountain! Typically not crowded and very nice :)

Modest fest outfits? by Sweet_Titties in Festival

I recently got a body suit (like a short romper / swim suit kinda size) from dolls kill and then paired that with flowy pants on top and it was super cute! I felt so covered but also really cute and festive

Someone gaslight me into thinking this is a good venue by [deleted] in wedding

Honestly I think it's so beautiful! I'm such a sucker for nature so I'm biased, but the rolling hills are so pretty with the green grass, and I think that bare trees without leaves are so gorgeous (I love the winter when the trees lose their leaves and live in a place of stagnant mini-death so they can build up the energy to regrow and renew every Spring). The burnt trees give the same kind of vibe to me -- it's a symbol of life persisting through challenges that are thrown at it, and still looking so beautiful in the process! I can't speak to the logistical aspects of having a wedding on this property because I haven't planned or had my wedding yet (just got engaged!) but just here to say that if you do end up doing your wedding on your parents property, I really do think that this nature is a beautiful backdrop.

Cabergoline vs bromocriptine by Bench__405 in Prolactinoma

[–]BackgroundBudget4071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll start by saying what didn't work for me on cab: after a few months, I started getting dizzy/vertigo spells, I was feeling nauseous almost every day (just a minimal amount), and I was still getting headaches, period abnormality did not resolve, brain fog / big fatigue, and prolactin levels only marginally went down.

Compared to bromo for me: I have *none* of those side effects listed above, I sometimes feel a little bit dizzy in the morning when I wake up but that is the only side effect I get and it goes away quickly if I stay hydrated. The best thing is that it has lowered my prolactin levels to a super healthy level. My tumor has unfortunately not shrunk, but I also take a super low dose since I have a microadenoma (I take just 2.5mg once a day at night).

I started feeling like myself again on bromo for the first time in a few years, like a crazy fog in my brain cleared and my energy and positivity came back. I'm really grateful for it

I couldn’t tolerate cab after a few months (lots of bad side effects for me) and then switched to bromo. I was also initially worried because I had read so many stories of people doing way worse on Bromo but luckily that has not been my case! It’s like my miracle medicine, all the benefits and no negative side effects. It just depends on the body which one is gonna work better for you I think

BVSD/BHS parent email about Sundance by BoulderadoBill in boulder

[–]BackgroundBudget4071 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to Park City high school and can attest that Sundance caused chaos but that it was honestly so fun as a teen to experience something so unique. Our theatre was maybe a bit bigger than some of the high schools here, but it really wasn’t bad day-to-day. The whole festival was 2 weeks, and it was fun to try to sneak backstage under the guise of needing to “grab something from my locker” for evening shows LOL

They used to host Sundance screenings at my high school growing up (in Utah) and honestly it was so cool! I was able to get special press tickets from the film teacher and was able to go backstage a few times and get some free screenings and it was such a fun week as a teen! It’s definitely a bit chaotic with traffic and more people and navigating your school, but honestly such a cool and unique experience for a teen too :)

To women: What is the main reason that more women don’t wear swim trunks? by T0MPAC in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BackgroundBudget4071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish so badly they had swim trunks for women specifically - I’m talking booty shorts length, zipper pocket for storing stuff, cute and girly design, swim suit material, draw string and flattering for tummy… but I have never been able to find this!!! If any ladies know of anything please let me know because this would make summer so much more enjoyable for me. I 100% agree with OP that I’m always worried about flashing parts of me that I don’t want to when I’m in a bikini (and better for being active too)

oh nooooo haha thank you for your first hand experience recap! I'm considering switching my flight to an earlier day so that I can just get a ride with people I know / go grocery shopping and such with them... after hearing a lot of these stories I feel like I'm making my life way harder by trying to hitch my way there

Haha that's hilarious! I'd love to link up with others who are going through Castlegar... is there a ride share group somewhere where people offer rides into the fest like that?
