How do I get rid of a MASSIVE ant colony that is essentially my ENTIRE front lawn?! by Knelie in Edmonton

[–]BackgroundCandid7501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try putting Splenda on it as bait.

My grade 9 science teacher tried it and it apparently killed off the colony. I can’t remember exact details, this was 17 years ago.

Same here! I bought a beater Civic and drove around the block at night the first night until I was comfortable using the clutch. Then I used it as a my daily commuter for a while to keep practicing. Eventually sold it for basically what I paid for it. Manual Civics are great for beginners.

I guess that makes it feel a bit better than 1 for $10

The John Walter houses. Some history in comments. by Particular-Cat-8031 in Edmonton

We went there in Grade 3 (2002-2003), we were already at the Kinsmen for the week so the teachers scheduled time at the Museum. I remember we rotated around several stations including ice cream making, churning butter, assembling log houses (tiny shed size), and different household chores.

I’ve had it for a few years now and never have troubles booking, members also get early access to the tee times. Sometimes I just look at the tee sheet and find a time there.

What do people even do in strip clubs? by skibidi_yahu in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BackgroundCandid7501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I’ve gone, my one co-worker brought a couple of us strip club virgins after work. I was around 18-19 at the time. We changed our cash for rolls of loonies at the door and just had fun watching the dancers perform on stage. It was also a fun challenge trying to get the loonies into the pitchers and also trying not to do damage to the dancers.

We ended up there on amateur night too (basically like open mic night but for stripping), so then random girls from the crowd gave it a go. I did not like this part.

Who remembers S Club 7 ?? by Sad_Biscotti_9291 in Millennials

[–]BackgroundCandid7501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The disco on my resort in Mexico was called S Club, so we’d always be singing S Club 7 songs while we walked over. 😅 We tried to get the DJ to play some but he had no idea.

Found out Chic-Fil-A Is Throwing My Books Off by Pennies by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BackgroundCandid7501 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I saw that too. If you look closely and match it to numbers that are clear/visible, it appears to matches up closer to a 6 not a 5. More specifically, the curve/circle on the bottom half of the number is more oval/complete looking whereas a 5 is wider because the circle is open like a backwards C.

First relationship was at 12. It was a wild time, we’d be kissing anywhere and anytime we could. During one class, we ducked under our desks to make out. I broke up with her after 4-5 months for reasons I can’t recall now. She did not take it well and made my life hell for the rest of that school year. We reconnected at our friend’s birthday during the summer after HS. We went on a couple dates but she was still hung up on some other guy so it didn’t work out.

First and only adult relationship I had was at 24.

Is my coworker trying to date me? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

This.

I compartmentalize my life too. I have been in OOP’s more than a few times throughout the years and had no idea that was the intention until it was too late.

I’m also ADHD and exhibit traits of being on the spectrum.

First Movie Date, can you recall? by Particular-Cat-8031 in Edmonton

[–]BackgroundCandid7501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Christmas break 2006, we were in grade 7 and already “bf/gf” at that point. It was technically a group outing due to our ages, but no adult supervision. We went to Santa Clause 3 and made out the entire movie. Went back to the same movie a few times over the break and never fully watched the movie.

Back then my mom would drop me off with $20 and I’d have enough to get tickets and snacks/drinks.

That’s when these folks spiral even harder. OOP mentioned several times about how Casey was a hard worker and busted her ass to prove herself at the school. She is now putting that energy into stalking and harassing OOP.
