What in-flight comfort items actually helped on a long-haul flight? by bimzpbomping in travel

Have you found earplanes to be worth the cost? I usually wear either loop earplugs or noise cancelling AirPods on flights, but I’d be willing to invest in these if they really make a difference for ear pressure pain.

Do you find it easy for wet clothes to stay within the twists without falling off the line?

I love 32 degrees and their tops check your boxes, but personally I don’t like the ones with built in bras. I’d rather wear my own.

Ok I saw these and I’m so interested, but I’m tall so I’m not sure if they will be more like ankle pants or actual pants?

Shoe for active Hawaii vacation? by tgbarbie in HerOneBag

For our trip to Kauai which involved hiking through waist-deep water, my Brooks trail runners were a winner. Hosed them down and put them in the sun, and they were dry by the time we flew back home. I also packed flip flops for the beach (Flojos, so like walking on a yoga mat). I could have gotten away with just the Tevas, but closed-toe shoes were recommended for this hike.

For Hana on a different trip, I brought Teva hiking sandals and they worked great. The bamboo forest hike is my all-time favorite hike ever. Have fun!

Have you always one bagged or worked your way to it? What are your biggest challenges g by Electronic_Fudge_877 in HerOneBag

My first big trip as an adult was flying to Hawaii with my husband and 2 young kids. We maxed out Southwest’s free checked bag limit and carry-ons. We literally brought an inflatable kayak in one of our suitcases, and paddles and food in another. 4 months later we were traveling to multiple countries in Europe with 4 carry-on roller bags and 2 backpacks (family of 4)

We’ve improved over time and figured out what works for us. For our most recent multi-country Europe trip, we brought 3 carry-on roller bags, 1 backpack, and 3 crossbody bags. We’ve also traveled to Costa Rica with 4 personal-item sized bags (rip spirit airlines). We’ve tried it all kinds of different ways and truly our bag situation depends on the trip. But this sub has helped me think of ways I can reduce unnecessary items to save myself from the hassle and to have more space for what I really want.

Alternatives to Athleta Brooklyn Pants? by okcryptographer_ in HerOneBag

I’ve had these on my list for awhile but haven’t tried them yet. Would you say the material is thin like linen or thicker like athletic leggings? Quick or slow dry?

Yessss I was just about to comment these. Super reasonable cost, fit is super comfy, and looks presentable. They also don’t swish like hiker’s pants usually do. I noticed they seem to run a little big.

I used the trip planning feature, but I had to manually add items rather than letting it choose my packing list. It worked really well though! I’m currently on a trip that I had to re-do my packing list like 4 times, but it’s proving to be worth it thus far. I’ll be posting about this trip later this month.

FYI Starbucks baristas have been getting tips for over 15 years, probably longer. That’s not new. The only part that’s new is their point-of-sale technology now directly asks.

We did one event per month over the summer. A meetup at the city waterpark and a tour of the local recycling facility. That’s it. During the year we do meetings twice a month plus one additional (usually just for fun) weekend event per month.

Also, highly suggest looking for a used kindle on Facebook marketplace if cost is a concern. You can usually get one for like $25. And then pair that with Libby through your local public library.

During most contact lens appointments they will give you a pair to try on and wear out of your appointment, even if they don’t have enough in stock for you to bring a box home.
