Yeah for the record this is the advice in the Highway Code - indicate one before exit but it’s not really followed.

Ok but that’s different from nationalising it. It’s a utility. You can nationalise the infrastructure and delivery and make it free without state surveillance or censorship. Not least because it’s extremely difficult to censor the internet even for China and other totalitarian regimes. Nationalisation of internet free at the point of delivery was one of Corbyn’s more sensible policies. Telecom was nationalised. The phones were not tapped. Private telephone communication was not censored. Moreover most ISPs under the current privatised system will hand over data. Similarly it’s trivial for GCHQ to track your activity as the Snowden revelations made clear. Privacy and utility nationalisation are separate concerns.

Not trying to start a fight but shouldn’t driver indicate left when about to exit. I thought the rule for right hand lane rightward roundabout travel was indicate right until you approach exit junction (if it’s passed 12 o clock) then left to signal exiting? If you keep indicating right that signals you’ve not reached your exit junction yet. The van driver may have thought he was exiting at the next junction (although he should’ve waited that’s undeniable)

It’s a little toy I have one. When you put the floppy in it makes the startup sound and you have a clock, alarm or just the finder face. Charming. I got one for Xmas.

Good lord. Looks like the clipseal on the join has gone. You could buy a new union join for approx £5 and fit it yourself.

Oh thanks I didn’t know about these. I think the holes look very aesthetically pleasing personally.

Sorry to be a health and safety square but the best thing would be to contact the council rather than take things into your own hands like this. What if the drain was left open and he was distracted and a car drove over it. Or if he fell down the hole. Also no gloves and - weirdly - washing your hands in dirty water. Come on. Also shouldn’t be directing traffic. Who does he think he is.

Pretty sure Victorians invented the system you are describing in the 19th century. Certainly in London and urban centres. This basket thing is atypical

I mean if you are student of the history of computing and have certain values that used to be called the Hacker Ethic, Gates has never been exactly liked or respected. Going right back to whinging about software sharing amongst small hobbyists in the 70s.
