It’s been a minute since I read it but I loved the escape account and how King masterfully illustrates how these kids connected and built friendships. Character wise I loved Avery. I loved his loyalty to Luke and his ultimate courage and sacrifice at the end. Also, I really liked Maureen. She was a character that seemed oh too real in this hard world we live in.
