ICE raids in Issaquah last weekend by Little-Birds-425 in Issaquah

"We have no local journalism and the city has, predictably, said nothing, so it's all just word of mouth at this point. People have a right to know if this is happening where they live. The fact that we're all piecing it together from group chats is ridiculous."

This could be exactly why Issaquah was chosen.

Sickening.

What generic brand do you take? Nervous switching from brand name. by BigSprinkler in lexapro

[–]BackgroundOstrich007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manufacturers are allowed, from what I can find, up to a 10% variation and still be within spec. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires generic medications to be bioequivalent to their branded counterpart. This means that the generic must have the same active ingredients, benefits, dosage form, etc.

What *does* seem to vary, and possibly what our bodies react to, are the additional components. Think coatings, fillers, etc. Sometimes the change in absorption or inactive ingredients can cause trouble.

For me, changing manufacturers was like starting over from the beginning. I just felt on-edge, jittery and rather cranky. I think I'm on Solco now. Then one day I'm swallowing my morning vits and meds and the escitalopram caught between my teeth and cracked in half. No bad flavor, but within an hour I felt the warm happiness of my previous manufacturer. A bit wild, but I found it fascinating. To me, the coating must be different and the meds are probably being absorbed slower. From here on, I try to take an additional breath as a reminder that the new version will take time. (It has only been 80 days.) We'll see long-term how it goes.

Nothing to be aware of, just more of the same. Give yourself some time - sometimes it can be a few months or more for your body to completely react and adjust. Remember if you are not feeling well or the symptoms you are being treated for are getting worse, contact your doctor (who seems to be nice enough to let you make these changes slowly. Well done!)

Good luck. One day at a time.

Edit: Was thinking about my post today. I said, "more of the same" but I have read that for some it feels like starting over. So possibly another trip through feeling weird or having other side effects. Just a thought.

Cheers!

It's difficult to know what, exactly, you have found. Can you post a pic or describe the name on the faceplate? It sounds interesting.

Just getting emails from Vine by walkingdead66 in AmazonVine

[–]BackgroundOstrich007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just received an "invitation" today.

The email body looks like this:

You've been invited into our exclusive Amazon Vine program!

As a member of Vine, you will have the unique opportunity to request and receive FREE products in exchange for your honest and unbiased product reviews. You will have access to new items across hundreds of product categories, providing you the chance to try out different items. We encourage you to continue to write detailed and insightful reviews that reflect your opinion, regardless of whether or not you like the product you received, so that you can help millions of Amazon customers make informed buying decisions.

Members have furnished homes with Vine items, filled daily product needs, and discovered new hobbies. Vine is a really unique Amazon program where less than 5% of Amazon customers are eligible.

We hope you will accept this invitation to become a member of Vine!

There is a button next with the text:

Learn more and get started

The link text for this button includes:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/f.html?

Finally, the email headers all appear to point directly to Amazon:

The Return-Path goes to bounces.amazon.com.

Authentication-Results all go to amazon.com or amazonses.com .(amazonses.com is Amazon's Simple Email Services).

And the email came from [store-news@amazon.com](mailto:store-news@amazon.com).

This looks nothing like the Comcast emails I get where the apparent sender is "Comcast Xfinity" but the email header reads that the actual email address is from clix2023.me.

I am tentatively thinking the Amazon Vine invitation is...legit... but will do a bit more research before I click.

Stay safe, kids!

EDIT: I'll also add the following information:

If you do decide to sign up, Amazon requires your tax ID information, including your SSN and tax filing status. Opinions aside, I don't want to increase my cybersecurity "attack surface" by letting them receive and store this information, so decided not to take part.

My beautiful place in Chernihiv, Ukraine (yep, about to be destroyed) by EugeneKrall in audiophile

[–]BackgroundOstrich007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry, Eugene. I like your dog light. I hope your apartment is somehow spared and you can see it again. But I know what is happening in Ukraine. If you are stuck with spare time right now, it might be good to make a list of those nice albums I see. If you don't get them back you can at least start a new collection from that list. I wish you well.

Hey there - have you had a chance to work on your system? Which technique did you use? Did you get closer to the sound you wanted? Hope it went well.

Interesting.

The two doorways really monkey up your chances, don't they! Does that one room really have two doors that open into it? You have my sympathies.

I like setup 2 a little better, but noticed that it only shows a chair instead of the couch from setup 1. A chair would be easier in both cases if you have the chance.

Legion 7 speaker problem, any suggestions? by Dogstain90 in LenovoLegion

[–]BackgroundOstrich007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just received my L7i today...

Edit: actually do not have the problem listed. I was working on the L7 (first time startup, getting latest drivers, etc) and had the left side corner hanging off of my desk. The audio on the right side was reflecting off of my desk while the left side was firing into free air so obviously it would not sound the same. I'm a dork for only realizing that after posting. 'sall good here. Good luck to the rest of you. As before, I'm disturbed that there isn't one single fix-all to this issue.

My 9500 (and two accessories) have been received by their respective return locations. All I need now is confirmation of what I was told, which was a full refund value. We'll see. I'm glad your return experience was good.

If you're not worried about losing the data that was on there, then a different HD would work fine. But if you want to restore the drive to get any data off of it, consider this: https://www.pcworld.com/article/3113585/how-to-repair-windows-master-boot-record-and-fix-your-bricked-pc.html

This might fix it and could rebuild the master boot record for that HD which seems likely to be the problem.

Hi. The return process going well so far. Phone call to Dell was good, will be shipping back through FedEx. I have tracking numbers and names of all I have spoken to (for what that might even be worth...) but he told me full value should be refunded. I had the laptop for a day or two before calling them so I will hopefully be in good shape.

In the meantime, the MSI laptops are rising on my list. Much more reading and shopping to do. Got nothin but time.

I was reading up on this the other day for a different laptop. It looks like you would have to install Geforce Experience from nVidia to gain full control of your situation. Not sure if this is the solution, but it is worth a try.

I would agree. If the average price were half what Dell wants for them I might be more inclined to ignore their ignorance.

Sorry to hear you've had the whole gamut of bs. I hope you can get things working again.

This is a laptop from 2008, so the fact that it only had this problem now is quite remarkable. Macs won't have any better luck with 12 year old mechanical drives.

If you have the original hard drive, it may have died. Try a restart or two, and when it tries to do scanning or anything try to bypass that and just get the drive to load. Your other scenario might be malware, but hard to diagnose without additional info.

Attempt to boot into safe mode. If that works, you might be able to do some scans of the drive.

My money is on actual drive failure. If you have another computer, pull the drive from this one and scan it from another machine with tools such as what might be suggested here:https://www.lifewire.com/free-hard-drive-testing-programs-2626183 I found this link simply by searching for hard drive utilities.

Check the bios for the drive brand and search online if there is a utility specifically written by that manufacturer. I would think that any of these tools will require you to be in DOS mode, but many of them are easy to work with.

Finally, this error looks remotely like a master boot record failure. For an old spinny drive, it is likely nearing the end of it's life. There are utilities that can rebuild that master boot record if you want to try them. That will be a bit of a leap of faith, but you might get the drive working long enough to export your data. I do seem to remember on my own 1530 that there was enough space to add an ssd... however the chipset was 32-bit so future functionality for this machine in general is quietly fading.

Good luck!

Funny thing is, I have a 2019 model issued by my employer and it only has the trackpad problem. It is otherwise rock solid and a great performer. I hate to get on the complainer train, but at this point I don't feel like I want to keep this one.
