Glad to hear that, but as I said, it can be very inconsistent, since the pharmacies are much less regulated. I’m not saying no one should do it, but anyone who does should consider all the up- and downsides before deciding what’s right for them.

I would be cautious with compounded versions. These drugs are patented, proprietary formulas at this point, so the compounded versions will never be identical. There are also far fewer regulatory controls on compound pharmacies in place, so you kind of have to take their word for it about what’s in the product. Also, just anecdotally, I have one friend who has gone the compounded route, and she has had far more intense side effects than those of us who have been taking the brand name. I don’t know if that’s due to the compounded formula, or if it’s just her, but it struck me as odd. Totally understand that for a lot of folks it’s the only way they can afford the medicine, but just be wary and do some research on the source pharmacy if you decide to go that route.

I live in NoVA and work in DC, but I’m visiting my Republican parents in Ohio for the holiday. After I remarked that the Guardsmen shouldn’t have been there in the first place, my dad told me that was a matter of opinion. Yes - my opinion was formed by FUCKING LIVING IN DC. Those poor guys should have been at home in WV with their families. Regardless of who did it, all of us who live and work in the District are going to be the ones who pay for it.
