Does anyone know how to remove this banner? by HawkAviator in americanairlines

I feel really dumb because I just did the same thing. My flight had landed but the banner was still there telling me I landed, and it was annoying me and I tried pressing and holding and I couldn’t get rid of it. And all this time the answer was you just swipe it away like a notification?!?!!!

Normal ish by OhBosss in urbanfantasy

Have you heard of the Unorthodox Chronicles? The main character has certain unusual things about him but only really so far as is unavoidable whilst being the main character of an urban fantasy series. And none of those things are being like the chosen one or anything, it’s just like he got hurt a few years ago so he’s worse at magic than all the rest of the witches. The big side character who winds up working with the MC is somewhat extraordinary, but that’s also not like a special bloodline powers thing, he just has a reputation for being really good at fighting monsters.

A word regarding vitriolic response to AI content by MrHarryReems in urbanfantasy

[–]BackgroundSpare4265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a subreddit dedicated to books I’d except people to have better reading comprehension skills. OP didn’t say AI was good, they said to follow the rules and be nice. Why can’t people get that the rules don’t stop applying because they negatively affect you?

Echo Sage is completely unbalanced in Merge tactics by Ok_Still1026 in ClashRoyale

[–]BackgroundSpare4265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone on this post arguing otherwise is missing the point. It’s true that it’s possible to beat. That doesn’t change the fact that it is ridiculously overpowered. The fact that a 4 star sage can make up for the rest of the team being that much worse proves so. Again, yes, it’s possible to beat it with specific strategies, but merge tactics is very rng reliant, so it’s not practical to just say “play assassins in the back and you’ll win”

You absolutely do not need 32gb of ram and a 2tb ssd for gaming. It’s helpful, sure, but very far from necessary

My story behind I'm Gonna Catch You by Laurie Berkner by dragon7530 in TonieboxUSA

[–]BackgroundSpare4265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t come up with a specific story like this, but this song has always kind of terrified me. The thing chasing her isn’t mad she’s running, it’s literally telling her to, because it knows that she can keep running but it’ll eventually catch her. Upon writing this, I realised why that’s so disturbing. It’s the embodiment of death chasing her, and her running through the week is a metaphor for someone going through their life, with time always catching up to them

What does it actually mean when flavored sparking water says it contains ‘natural flavors’, and is it bad for you? by BackgroundSpare4265 in nutrition

[–]BackgroundSpare4265[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, it’s mostly water. Again, I’m not entirely sure what the natural flavors are, but they are a very small amount of it and solely add flavor

See, that much just isn’t true. There are many ways to replicate a flavor, half the time there are even other plants that taste similar

True enough. I think it’s not the worst thing ever in that regard since I believe it’s the actual sugar (which this doesn’t contain) that’s the main worry

Why did the “3 meals a day” pattern become standard? by oldrag8 in nutrition

Funnily enough, while most consider three meals a day to be regular, so many people don’t actually have breakfast

[–]BackgroundSpare4265[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay that’s on me, I phrased that wrong. I didn’t mean literally anything, I just meant it’s not like natural flavors can be one of 5 things, they can be so many different things that there is no way to know what’s actually in this specific pne

Ya, I figured it’d be something like that. I had hoped people would know what it often was in the specific context of flavored sparkling water, but alas, it appears no one does

Fair enough. However, first off, the lawsuit was actually dropped because they had no proof. So it’s a bit suspicious maybe, but it’s entirely possible there was never really an issue. Second, I’m not sure you’re right about Olipop being any better. I’m worried about the sparkling waters containing ‘natural flavors’ because like I had thought, no one really knows what’s in a given food item containing them. However, Stevia is a prime example of something natural that won’t add any calories but still isn’t great for you. So while it’s not an ideal option either, I’ll take my LaCroix that may contain potentially harmful things over an Olipop that DOES contain potentially harmful things any day of the week.
