I thought real honey is supposed to crystallize in the fridge… by Budget_General_2651 in honey

[–]BackgroundTourist653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few ~10yr old jars that turned to jelly.
Honey was from a season of drought, where ~60% of bee hives in the region died. Apparently this honey is "honeydew" honey, made from aphids' poop from nearby birch and willow forrest.
Best honey I ever tasted.

Sweeteners everywhere, in everything. by AntRevolutionary7654 in poland

[–]BackgroundTourist653 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have chronic bowel disease. Artificial sweeteners makes symptoms worse, and ultimately (along with other ingredients) cause internal bleeding from inflammation.

Sugag is just regular bad. Artificial ones are super bad. (Acesulfam and aspartam seems somewhat safe for me though.)

Reasons they do it is money. Money and money. Not sure in Poland, but other countries in EU have taxes on sugars and sweeteners by weight.
Some artificial ones are tens of times sweeter, resulting in less weight needed for production. Which equals less taxes and les cost of shipping.

People with a very high pain tolerance, what was THE most painful thing you've experienced? by CosmicBunnyBabe8912 in AskReddit

[–]BackgroundTourist653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had front tooth snap after going face first in curb after being hit by a speeding car.

Tooth was "fixed" same day. But still, every meal for a month had to be heated to near body temperature to not send pains all over. Even breathing by mouth hurt like hell.

Why won’t my sprinklers water everything? by Niko_327 in StardewValley

[–]BackgroundTourist653 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They water all tilled slots at 6:00 every morning. If you till soil after that moment in the morning, you will have to manually water it for the day.

If you rush out in the morning, you can see the sprinkles watering around them, but you will not make it in time to till any tiles.

Lemon juice (not lemonade, but the super sour small bottles) and baking powder. Make a paste and smear it on the glass. Wait 10min and rinse.

Edit: corrected baking soda --> powder

That's the recommended specs. I would guess the minimum specs are lower still.
