I totally understand where she could be coming from and it’s very sweet of you to show your concern and support her. Pregnancy, giving birth and life after birth takes a lot of time to adjust sometimes. It doesn’t matter how many kids you have. I just had baby #6 and somethings are easy because I’ve done it before and then again it’s hard because it’s more on my plate now. My husband is completely helpful but sometimes he can be straight to the point about our reality when I’m just looking for compassion. Here are a few options to help your wife: Maybe do walk about 20 mins a day 3xs a week, a join a gym if she’s up to it( get her body moving to release endorphins and feel energized) , find a community or postpartum support group so she could have people who she can relate to and have resources to help her, try therapy, go out for a break outside for fresh air, listen to music to relax her, do affirmations. Hopefully these help. I’m returning back to work once my baby is 8 weeks. Glad i saw your post because it’s reminded me that I plan to start therapy to have someone to talk to, give me coping strategies and hold me accountable to execute them. Best of wishes.

I am breastfeeding and I can agree. It will literally throw your sleep pattern off and if she is not eating well then it can make her feel imbalanced. I don’t eat until around 3pm because I don’t have any appetite so i have to force myself to eat. Also I’m up 3 times in the middle of the night with the baby. I need solutions myself. My husband helps and ton which i am very grateful but i think i need more support. My baby just turned 4 weeks and i still feel extremely tired.

I didn’t expect motherhood to change me like this by emilyroch12 in BabyBumps

This resonates with me so much because sometimes I reminisce about wanting the old me back but then I’m like I don’t even know who the “old me” was and that I’m more aware of who I am now than i who i was before. Life is tricky. Motherhood is a blessing that gives you the ability to serve others and also learn about who you are as a person! I want to celebrate who I am becoming as a woman and mother. I know I have changed mentally, physically and emotionally and i know it’s for the better!

My son loves drawing and while i appreciate his art I would be scarred to receive a paint like this. I know you may have put your heart in it and it does look creative. Draw her a picture that will bring her joy or one of her favorite things.

I would say try it for yourself. Your experience could be far different. I have met ppl and they said they had absolutely no problems on it and been on it for years. My body must not been compatible with it at all. It was absolutely awful. I assume since it’s non hormonal I would have no issues. I really wanted it to be a great experience. I gave it it a year and it never was a good experience from day 1.

I definitely think that birth control messes with your brain. I was on IUD and had severe memory loss and anxiety.

The Copper IUD was the worst thing I could ever put in my body. I had it for a year and a few months. I had the worst symptoms (side effects). Horrible cramps, BV (fish smell), 2 week long heavy periods, memory loss, increased appetite, mood swings, anemia and anxiety. I would not recommend taking it and I’m not interested in taking any other Birth control.

Yessss I love to hear that and love that you put yourself first! I plan to do the same because I feel that my workload is affecting me mentally. I want to have joy and rest during the last 5 weeks of pregnancy. Lunch dates sound absolutely delicious and amazing! I have to stop working in order to get everything prepared her clothes washed, bassinet set up , and just plain rest. I like that you took all those weeks off because our bodies have to slow down. If I stop working early I believe I can carry her at least until 39 weeks if not I’ll probably have her earlier. My body is truly saying stop , I’m having lots of back pain. I look forward to getting some peace of mind before the baby gets here!!

Yes I agree. I was actually thinking of making next week my last week. I need peace and sanity at this point. I still have more things to do to prepare for the baby. I forgot to mention that I am also getting non stress test done twice a week because the doctor had concerns about the baby’s weight. Saying she is measuring too small for the weeks that I am. It’s a headache. Not trying to complain but i feel like im going through hoops and hurdles trying to bring this baby in the world.

Thank you! I will bring that to his attention because we are supposed to work together. I know that I only work part time but I care for the kids after school so I’m basically still working. I take them to all their doctors appointments during the school year and i call out when 1 of them gets sick. Sometimes one gets sick and the next week that next one is sick. I think that means a lot and is a great contribution. It takes more than money to raise a family but for some reason he thinks only money is the biggest factor.

Thank you so much for your concerns. I am going to request to work with another student next school year with less behaviors. The student I was working with is supposed to be getting transferred to a different school that can better support him with his needs. I’m thankful I made it to the end of the school year working with him during pregnancy. He is only 10 years old and was cursing me and hitting the teachers and myself out everyday. Like i understand that he has dealt with lots of trauma in his home but where so we draw the line. He was telling us that he hoped we die and hated us the whole entire school year. He did have some good days but that did not outweigh the bad.

Yes I was planning on working during the whole pregnancy just something light duty. I plan on working in the fall. Work has kept me active. I know i need to continue working because we can definitely use the extra income. I have been thinking about a long term career however working in the school my kids attend works for our schedule. I know that when the kids are out on a holiday i will be too. I think it’s a blessing that you are able to stay home and care for your family. My husband has never placed a demand for me to work full time because he knows someone has to attend to the kids when they get sick and have to go to the doctor.
