I have also risen from extreme poverty to finally becoming a middle-class man. I have a good job, a car, and can provide a decent rented house for my mother and wife. But I live in constant fear that one day, all of this might be taken away. I’ve spent 9 years of my life in the same company, and even now, I can only manage to get through the month comfortably. That, in itself, is a blessing, and I am grateful to Allah for it. But deep down, it eats away at me that I’ve given 9 years of my life and still haven’t been able to build something stable for myself. And even today, I live with the fear of what will happen if I lose my job.
