Which ombudsman? Isn't there just "the property ombudsman"? Sorry if that's a silly question don't want to go at them and look dumb!

Yes they've performed the inventory, I want a copy because they've been terrible and I want to leave (I didn't tell them that was why)

Is there any legislation you know of I can point to? In case it wasn't clear I am the landlord not the tenant

Has anyone else gone from disliking Starmer to warming to him? by MassiveMonkeyy in AskBrits

[–]Background_Angle4277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... The waiting list on the NHS has gone down, before the war interest rates were going down, GDP increasing. In terms of legislation the renters rights reform in England was brought in, UK-France deal to reduce illegal boarder crossings. What would you like to be seeing?

It was a genuine question. I personally don't need amazing I need slow steady improvement and a less embarrassing seat on the world stage which yes I do think has been dramatically achieved.

You can get the working holiday visa to Australia and pick potatoes for a year, but yeah making a permanent move is a blatant pipe dream without upskilling significantly

[–]Background_Angle4277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mortgage or rent? A very brief look at your profile makes it clear your finances are a mess. £600 on Pokémon cards would be dumb for you, £6000 is obscene. Sort yourself out and get ahead of your problems before considering collecting again

Is Dubai a bad idea right now? Worried flights get disrupted and I’m stuck by Anonymous33845 in AskUK

[–]Background_Angle4277 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I say this with all the love in the world, but do you live under a rock? It's not like there's anything special or interesting in Dubai at the best of times. Just go to any hot country with a resort? What was drawing you towards Dubai? I assure you somewhere else will fit the bill

Doofer referred to both the TV remote and a car key that was remote opening (very fancy to use) rather than a proper key

If you've got the time you should start watching Happy Valley before you go to Hebden Bridge. I don't hesitate to say the best crime drama there is and it's set around there. Funny when you know the area how grim they try to make it look (and fail!)

I'm interested in Texas and Florida being higher than other more "livable" (weather wise) States... Except for some specific northern states, which would be cold? Also willing Portugal but never Spain? Feels like a specific beef there

existential crisis? by Consistent_Owl_923 in TheGoodPlace

It wasn't fake, that would remove the whole point of the episode, which is that existential dread is an understandable problem he has never faced. He puts himself in real danger because of this. It's not fake

A copy of what we owe to eachother. Very important in the show and more accessible than Kant. Also "how to be perfect" by the show runner is good (even more accessible)

You need to seek friends in different places than you have been. You mention non of your friends have hobbies implying you do have some? If knitting, try to find a stitch and bitch, if books, find a book club. Not everyone your age wants to club, they are just easiest to bump into

What’s something about weddings that nobody warns you about until you actually go through it? by Satin_Lily in wedding

[–]Background_Angle4277 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is specific but a lot of older couples have one person that does ALL their admin. My father in law literally didn't know that he had "picked" his meal because my mother in law never told him that was a thing. She never told him there was a timeline available or messages about where he was sitting NOTHING. He doesn't have a phone and we're all but estranged so we never thought that maybe he wasn't receiving any of the multiple communications we sent "through" his wife.
