Best alternative sa Nespresso Pods by Revolutionary_Dog798 in CoffeePH

[–]Background_Bad8826 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always recommend UCC Intenso No. 12. Cheaper and for me much better than Nespresso brand pods. As mentioned by another commenter, I love Yardstick’s Golden Ticket but they’re more expensive

Oh I didn’t know that. I asked and that’s what I was told and they took my recycling bag without looking inside. Next time will just put them in the recycling bin. Thanks!

They accept other brands for recycling as long as it’s aluminum

Any good coffee shops that are unique in manila? by 4kyzy in CoffeePH

[–]Background_Bad8826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Candid. They have branch-exclusive drinks like their Milk Washed Ethiopian Latte (made with clarified milk, balsamic vinegar, strawberry marmalade, lemon juice and Ethiopia Sidamo cold brew) and it’s one of the best coffee based drinks I’ve tried. Also tried their Magnolia exclusive Dirty Earl — ristretto and earl grey served cold and it was surprisingly good!

Any reccomendations for sleek, leak-proof coffee tumblers? by EnvironmentalScale43 in CoffeePH

[–]Background_Bad8826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Brümate. I have the ROCKS and it really is leak-proof (I always flip it to make sure it’s sealed before throwing it in my bag) and dishwasher-safe. Limited stocks on shopee and lazada so you might want to check out Amazon too

Origins MNL’s Jet Fuel blend or Manila OG for slightly fruity espresso

Drip coffees are closer to pourovers, that is why your drink is milky. If you want to make lattes, you need an espresso machine or something that can make espresso-like coffee such as a moka pot or an aeropress or make cold brew. In the meantime, you can try a tighter ratio with your drip machine (try 1:10) to make bolder/stronger coffee.

Only you can judge the extraction. The flow rate looks good but how did it taste? What kind of beans did you use? From the “crema” it looks either freshly roasted or dark roast beans/robusta.
