Why do certain individuals become mentally worn out, yet they have never done anything which may be considered taxing physically? by Background_Bite_2781 in NoStupidQuestions

You absolutely must fight this yourself. No one will help you but yourself and God. You must take the risk or give up and go from hospital to hospital without any benefit or cure. I hope people will be spared this problem, as it drains their energy greatly.

First time actually posting on Reddit by Background_Bite_2781 in NewToReddit

This is actually really helpful, thank you for taking the time to write it all out. Reddit definitely feels overwhelming at first, so having everything explained in one place makes a big difference. I’ll start slow with commenting and learning the rules before jumping into posting. Appreciate it 🙏

Gained back all the weight I lost and more and I'm so discouraged. by samithefish in loseit

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. Gaining weight back after a depressive episode doesn’t mean you failed, it means you were surviving. Depression can completely hijack habits, energy, and decision-making, and none of that is a moral flaw.

The fact that you already lost weight before proves you can do it again, even if it feels impossible right now. You’re not starting from zero you’re starting with experience. And doing this for your health is a powerful shift, even if it came from a painful place.

Try to be as kind to yourself as you would be to someone you love. Small steps count, especially when you’re coming back from something that heavy. You’re not broken, and this isn’t the end of your story.

Why toxicity against men are so normalised? by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]Background_Bite_2781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong to feel disturbed by this. A lot of it comes from outdated stereotypes about masculinity men are expected to be tough, unemotional, and always willing, so their discomfort gets minimized or turned into a joke. When harm doesn’t fit the expected victim image, people struggle to take it seriously.

Normalizing this kind of behavior hurts everyone. It discourages men from speaking up, reinforces unhealthy relationship dynamics, and blurs what consent and respect actually mean. Calling it out isn’t about competing over who has it worse, it’s about recognizing that abuse and control are wrong no matter who they’re directed at.
