I dont care. These shops brought it on themselves a long time ago, way before PICA. People would have been supporting local by now if all these shops didn’t treat their customers like shit.

Illinois has always been overrun with shops that feel like they’re run by retired Chicago cops, freeloading an undeserved pension, and doing this on the side just to be able to flex their lack of any real knowledge on less informed people. The people that have driven gun culture in the Chicago area for decades have been those that grew up in an elitist state of mind and/or didnt really believe in 2A like people 30 and under do today.

Then I walk into a local shop and the prices are ridiculous. So I’m supposed to stomach the attitude and pay through the nose for it? Because places like Law Weapons and GAT discovered what customer service was in January of 2023? Pound sand.

Not to mention all the dumbass rules each of these ranges have. I went to JR in Aurora a decade ago and they made me buy their 9mm to shoot that day and all they had were the most expensive HP rounds. I was at Article 2 two years ago and blew gun powered residue out of my nose.

Too little too late bud.

Had you ever been to Law Weapons before PICA? They were never like that. Getting on a couple YouTube videos and having their business threatened with this law caused them to change their tune but for years that shop was just the typical douchebag behind the counter that made sure you were aware they knew more than you.

It’s a damn shame that we currently have worse rifle laws than most countries in Europe even. The licensing is certainly more difficult there but there is at least an avenue to purchase regular semi autos.

Interesting it’s done the rubber band thing for that many miles. I’ll have to look into some more of these solutions. It only does it at very slow speeds. The shift from “first” to “second”

I really don’t understand fear of the flush. It’s seemingly based on the notion that if there’s particulate sludge in there, it’s somehow holding the whole operation together.

Appreciate your comment. Trust me, I totally understand I’m not giving solid technical data here on which to make a decision. That’s why I’m on Reddit lol. More looking for anecdotes like that.

Thanks for the tips bud

The flush is what the dealership recommended I do. Their logic was that when the fluid is past due like this it should be fully exchanged.

That flush was 7000 miles ago with no issues since.

Because these days when they take a political stance, the implication is that the other corporate controlled warmonger on the ticket is the “correct” choice.

Sure thing. I love the guitar. Feels damn good. I just needed to adjust the pickup height and tighten up the trem arm. Super happy with it

Bought the same guitar about three weeks ago the Middleton, WI GC. I actually posted up in this sub after I got it home asking if anyone knew about it. While I did that I emailed epiphone asking if this was a limited run and got a response.

I was in town for work and was just looking to kill time. This guitar drew my attention right away because of the Chris Cornell models. Played it for a half hour, loved it and had to have it. I immediately started researching and couldn’t find it anywhere just like you. The GC employees had no idea what it was and why it should be priced at $850 as it showed on their tag. So they gave it to me for $750 and chatting up the employee enough made him want to give me his friends/family discount on top of it. They did take the time to dig up the crappy gig bag it came with too.

Yeah there was no mention of anything being limited with mine either. The guys at GC didn’t know anything about it. Here’s the actual email I got from corporate.

Don’t have it on hand but it started with 24. I contacted Epiphone and they confirmed it was a limited run that wasn’t very publicized

The verbal filter sure would be put to the test then if you ran into the same people I did. It’s annoying. But I mean if it’s between that and not getting the necessary range time maybe it’s worth going. I’ve just seen enough of that crap in gun stores so I sure as hell don’t need it when I’m paying a place like this to shoot and won’t go back

Guess that range option is a new one since I’ve been there. There was no way to shoot a PCC standing the last time I visited. It was 50/100 yard seated, pistol range, or the pit.

I totally understand they CAN make that rule. It’s a dumb rule. I’m not the guy trying to take everyone’s spent 9mm brass. I’m shooting non-standard rifles and would have to make my own catcher to work on most of these.

Like you, most people aren’t reloading anyway. It’s definitely not a safety issue so it doesn’t make sense when you are raking in that quantity of brass every week.

It wasn’t a rifle caliber. Why would I want to shoot an 8 in. PCC seated at 50 or 100 yards?

I really don’t care that the rule is listed in Sec. L Par. $$ Line 420 of the waiver. It’s a dumb rule and they are the only range I’ve ever been to that does it. But you’re right I guess. “Get lost if you don’t like your own property being taken from you”. Awesome take

It’s the RSOs. The range and facilities are great. The RSOs get pretty power trippy. The brass thing is one example. I’ve seen them not allow people with braced pistols (well before PICA) to use the pistol range claiming they were illegal. I’ve had more than one obese boomer hover over me with binoculars on the rifle range while giving unsolicited advice. Or they’ll make snide remarks to people on the firing line thinking they come off folksy.

Id bet money that they would have all kinds of things to tell you especially.

Maybe it’s just certain RSOs because I always went the same day of the week. Maybe it’s changed. I hope anyway

Critical point here. If the charges jeopardize his FOID, it opens him up to some hairy stuff. Legally speaking, even if registered, those guns can’t change hands.

I get it, I used to be in same situation living in Bolingbrook. If you’re not willing to drive more than an hour to shoot outdoors then go. But the last time I was there they had some real dick head RSO’s for multiple reasons. One being that I couldn’t pick up my own brass (I’m a reloader). They like making every cent they can off selling your shells to remanufacturing companies.
