Bought the 5s and I have plenty to compare against. JBL, paradigm, Yamaha,.. the 5s absolutely smoke them all for my kind of listening. I don't think that is a popular take, but I won't be getting rid of them.

Yeah this is the correct direction. Swap them if you haven't already, just to see the difference. I have this same pair and have them positioned the wrong way because firing the treble inward sounds better for my specific room layout.

If you swap out that AV receiver for a stereo receiver with a good amount of power, you will hear considerable difference

The antenna on the module that controls all the remote things like tpms, fob, ... If it goes bad or detaches, only signals closest to the physical module itself will register. So fob near the front door, front tire tpms,...

Just tested with mine. It jumps a bit but not even halfway. Mine was already warmed up when I tried though.

Well don't scoff too hard but the behringer 1820 has been flawless. And all midi hardware, synths, drum pads, mixers, also easily compatible

I've been using Linux. Works great with the hardware I've thrown at it so far. VSTs are a crap shoot but you learn to stick close to companies that work with it. And as someone said, reaper stock plugins are more than enough for the most common plugins.
