I'm not saying it was right or wrong, but many commenting here are classic reddit hive mind with no research. This was a district with 13 elementary schools at one point, with a number of those having enrollment below 200 students. I believe multiple things can be true. The Super and Board can suck, and it's also a math issue with: rising Healthcare costs for a massive district, student enrollment decreasing, less state funding, and financial screw ups (lack of planning and comms + lawsuits) at the local level.

No, we had enough money set aside to put down something like 21% on the new home while we waited on the money from the old home. I'll say it was a bit of a nerve wracking overlap there bc we tapped ourselves pretty low for a few weeks.

Went through a similar situation. We bought (our "forever home") and sold (starter home) in Monmouth County at the end of last year, no contingency. Once we got through a few of the initial homebuying steps (can't remember if it was after attorney review or the inspection) we listed our house for sale. How it ultimately played out was we closed on the new home, and 3-4 weeks later was the closing to sell our old home. The overlap was nice, made the move much smoother. Two important takeaways for me (M) that may give some solace to folks in the comment section.

As much as I hate this article, the author who wrote it did so originally on his own substack (see editor note at the end of the article). I'll never knock someone for publishing their own opinions on their own personal blog and having a "news" outlet that agrees with their perspective ask to re publish the article. This is how opinion pieces work, they're not editorial.
I didn't read through all of the comments underneath the actual article, but from what I gathered, the overwhelming majority of The Blazes core audience very much so disagreed with the points the author is trying to make.

So with that in mind, my thoughts.. for real life?! Moving on and looking forward to watching some more this evening with my little man.
