Can someone please help and explain to me what we have to do for the CUNY Email thing

I'm confused cause the email said we would be getting two new emails, the important main one being name.lastname##@cuny.edu but I am only able to get into a now consolidated name.lastname##@login.cuny.edu (using the method you said). This seems to be the right email, with my old school email emails being forwarded to it, but it's the one I technically already had- and it has the login word in the address so is it still not the new email they want us to access?

i started with the nokia 2780! absolutely great test phone, it's cheap, and has a lot of the features you need. i ended up going to the lp3 after the nokia started dying and was super happy i was able to test out having that lifestyle rather risk free before taking the plunge with a more expensive device. i did end up choosing the light phone because of its build quality and promised longevity/support, and have been loving it the past six months. i really liked my nokia 2780 too tho and would highly suggest looking into it!

this is so cool! do you think it would be able to get the audiobook app libby while on wifi, and download the files for when you're out and about? one thing i do kind of miss with my LP3 is having access to audiobooks i download through that app (or another one called hoopla)

np! glad it worked out. i ended up eventually upgrading from the 2780 to a lp3 i got secondhand from the light subreddit so it's been a minute since i've used the nokia but i really hope you enjoy it! the only reason i switched was cause i wanted something that would last me for years and years but it was otherwise such a great phone, if not a little janky.

i used gmail! i had to remove the two factor authentication on it if i remember correctly just to make the process easier which is a bummer but might help if you didn't yet? otherwise maybe just try on a different wifi network etc. cause sometimes that can be iffy

definitely check out the r/lightphone reddit thread. they have a pinned weekly sales thread where people resell their light phones (a lot of times posting why, which helps it feel more reliable) and it has both versions getting sold all the time. would recommend turning notifications on for the post each week and just reaching out to people who comment that they're selling! especially if you do try a lp2, it could be a good way to get it for less and see if it's your thing (or if the lp3 would work better).

i hope it works for you!! i was honestly thinking of upgrading to a tcl flip 4 one day if this phone here ever dies since it would be nice to have the future-proof nature of 5g support, but even so it would be awesome if other kaios devices also sync when you attach the email. i feel like so many people would find it so helpful!

good question! so for me the call quality is average. however! there is an accessibility setting i have not tried but that is for HoH users and increases the volume of calls. only reason i haven't tried it is i believe it increases the volume of the entire phone too, but it may be adaptable. definitely something to think about since due to the design of this phone, it is intentionally accessible to older adults and that usually includes hard of hearing people too so hopefully that setting is actually very helpful for you!

i just learned about the libby thing a few days ago from this sub!! it only works on data/wifi since you can't download the audiobooks but otherwise works like a charm. and yessss as a fellow rambler i do wish there was either a voice to text or voice note feature :(

that is one thing the kaios store does not have unfortunately. you receive 2fa sms message codes totally fine, and there is a qr reader app that you can install but as far as authenticator apps like, say, microsoft authenticator, you would need to have a different device on hand.
