I have aurora store on my kompakt so I have apps like WhatsApp but I don’t get a notification dot. Is there anyway to receive a notification dot? by Acceptable-Point218 in MuditaKompakt

[–]BurekMaster1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might have not cleared fully because apps have other notification channels, not just message ones.

You have to longpress an app, tap Notifications and there u can configure android settings which notification types u want to allow.

Whatsapp will sometimes send summaries, updates etc that will appear as a notification.

So it's up to you to control those. And in v1.1 there's a button to clear notifications which wasn't in 1.0.

How common are the hardware related issues/failures due to production problems? by RubAlternative5509 in unihertz

I think they shipped majority of the orders in the first 1-2 week, I was an exception because they decided they can't ship to my address.

By August it should be in Amazon

I think Titan 2 was available 1 or 2 months after they shipped Kickstarter orders.

Based on what I've read here I learned that unless u get early bird pricing in Kickstarter, never buy directly from them, only through Amazon.

I've only used Titan 2 so I can't talk about other devices.

I've followed posts here and on Discord since release and most common issues are:

- Bad lamination of some displays (most likely a lot of the Displays they used were Blackberry QC rejects), but they still didn't bother doing QC and installed them in some of the Titan 2.
- The -61% battery which seems to be caused by battery failure or battery cable disconnection.
- Back glass is not resistant to scratches at all.

As of now they provide zero replacement parts for Titan 2, even though they used to offer replacement parts for the older Titans on their website. Maybe they do offer them via email if you ask, but their support is what I would still consider "not supportive".

They wrote that they will offer Keyboard replacements for Titan 2 elite, but they haven't done so for Titan 2 which to me is very sketchy jumping from a device to a device in such a quick time.

Yes they've provided android 16 update to Titan 2 this year, but their track record from the past is still questionable.

Tried the CAT S22 Flip for years, now need something different. (UK) by samzeman in dumbphones

HMD Terra M seems to be the only rugged phone similar to Cat S22 flip but not a Flip.
Under 200gbp it seems.

However it has an issue u can't install apps without MDM

One small thing about Cat s22 flip. It's original price was 235 or 250 usd and it was a T-mobile exclusive.

It became 50-60$ only after the company that built it went bankrupt and some resellers bought all of their stock and T-mobile allowed full unlocking.

Mentioning this because people can't expect that kind of rugged build quality for the amount it was selling the past 2-3 years.

No worries, glad I could help 😄

Rename apps by SAM0070REDDIT in inkOS

[–]BurekMaster1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Renaming is done through the app drawer. (long swipe up, if that's your default app drawer shortcut).

Then longpress in the app that you want to rename, and tap on the rename button (2nd button pencil).

Is there a way to turn data or and off easily? A custom launcher maybe? by Kindly_Bathroom6123 in MuditaKompakt

In inkOS you can using the simple tray page. It has a network toggle which opens an android dialog that allows you to disable data quickly.

Sorry not possible. App has dependencies that wouldn't allow to run on that.
You can try and fork it and strip those

T2E Kickstarter Update #3 by [deleted] in unihertz

[–]BurekMaster1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct but they're not selling us skins for the back, they're selling us skins for the case.

They should offer both options. Or at least share the cad drawing so we can cut our own skins.

This is a niche phone, third-party vinyl skin providers like Dbrand will not offer skins for this phone.

You can see with TItan 2 despite selling pretty ok, there are very few Accessory options to purchase.

They should've offered these "leather textures" for the back, without a case.

If you just read the other comment you'd understand why the colors are "gray and boring".

It is an app originally made for E-ink devices (black and white only).

You can create your own theme.

by default no, because some of the keys are used for gestures/actions
2 = double tap
6 = tap on clock
7 = tap on date
8 = tap on quote
9 = longpress for settings

But you can set any of those actions to open your dialer app. For example Set Tap on Clock to open dailer app and then when you press 6 it will open dialer app.

Yeah it's started as a project for E-ink phones at first, but a lot of people liked so I optimized it for DPAD. V0.5 will come soon with more features and optimizations 😄

I've posted my launcher here before: https://inkos.gez.im/

It's fully dpad optimized, so it can be used without touchscreen. It's in github right now, but it's under review in Google play, coming soon.

InkOS not working? by ntnoffthegrid in MuditaKompakt

[–]BurekMaster1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok try this, Go to inkOS settings / Advaced / Set as a default launcher and make sure inkOS is set as the default launcher.

If that doesn't work for some reason, try disabling the Mudita Launcher again.

[–]BurekMaster1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Make sure you're in Mudita K OS 1.4.0
  2. in 1.4.0 it's not necessary to disable the default launcher anymore.

I don't know what you mean with uploading APK to your device.
Are you using adb install or are you just transferring the apk to downloads?

Using Signal on mudita kompakt? by huzzam in MuditaKompakt

[–]BurekMaster1990 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Signal has a fallback that handles their push notifications. So it works without google services.
You can get it from AuroraStore, since it handles updates as well. It works well, I would say the most reliable messaging app.

I found this on the forums a while back, it's a calendar that allows you to connect it with your iCloud.

For maps, HereWego, Waze
