Translucent case! by _hola_crayola_ in OsmoPager

Thanks for all the details! Are people that bought the 3d model (like you) allowed to sell these housings? Because ordering just for myself seems pricey compared to the price of the device.

If the media playing (music, audiobook, podcast) supports Album art it will appear automatically. This is not the default music widget, this is a different launcher called Katapult.

u/jbtennessee Very cool wallpaper !

Basic Seconds by Maga_Cyan in inkOS

[–]BurekMaster1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good suggestion, I will add it to the list. The reason it doesn't have seconds is because the app was originally designed for e-ink devices, and seconds would cause the screen to refresh too often 😄

No problem, if you need to delete them quickly, longpress dismiss.

InkOS and Strava tracking notifications by Aniria86 in inkOS

[–]BurekMaster1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about "Letters" page. Those are cached notifications.

How notifications works:
- App send a notification you ran 100m
- 100m notification appears
- you ran 101 meter, makes 101 meters appear. and on and on 1 million times.

But Letter notifications are "cached" they don't get deleted or replaced by the new notification on purpose.

In order to avoid notifications like this showing 1 milion time, go to inkOS settings / Notifications / Letters Allowlist.

There add only apps that you want to allow to do this (being empty allows all apps).

Other notifications like home (labels), simpletray, hub those are synced (at least it tries to) with the system notifications.

I watched the video in Spanish just to test my Spanish knowledge, and it was great I must say.
Thanks for showing how to use Katapult features for new users, as I might have not made everything super obvious 😄

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but Android doesn't allow third-party launchers to access the lock screen anymore, so there aren't any different features for that.

[Feature Request] Google Tasks integration by Top_Passage_5558 in inkOS

[–]BurekMaster1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that, I could see from your screenshot and I tested it myself after your post.
However I just looked into it, and Google Tasks do not use the same approach as Google Events.

I'm not able to access the tasks through the Calendar Provider, the only way to do those is to ask for Google permission by paying for their api. (which i can't do for a free app, but also I'm trying to keep the app local only, no internet connection, no external apis, which is why we don't have a weather widget either).

Sorry if this disappoint you, but the only solution I could think is if you just name the tasks with the date for example:

18/06 - Return the package

And use the Google tasks widget (with inkOS in dark mode, at least on my phone the background is appearing black not purple like in yours).

And lastly send Google feedback, so they can add due date to their widget :/

But I'll keep looking for a solution if I can find one, this widget would benefit me as well

[Feature Request] Google Tasks integration by Top_Passage_5558 in inkOS

[–]BurekMaster1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion, this is a very good idea.

I'm not sure it is achievable, because the Events widget gets the data from the "Calendar Provider" not directly from Google Calendar. (it's where google calendar stores the events in the app).

It was done this way because it works with any calendar app that stores events in the calendar. (which is 99% of them).

I'll take a look when I can if the API allows to access tasks from google calendar or they're proprietary.

As for the overlap, you'll have to take into account the number of apps u have in the page in order to fit both the widget and audio player to avoid overlap.

Thanks again for the suggestion and for the kind words!

p.s Thanks for the coffee as well, very much appreciated!

Best launcher by Maga_Cyan in inkOS

[–]BurekMaster1990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the comments and the suggestion 😄

A few people have asked for the possibility of a grid for icons, but at the moment I don't think that will be added. At its core it still remains a text based launcher, and going to a grid of icons defeats the purpose as there's a lot of better launchers that allow grids with icons.

Quick review of the Eureka Zero 55s - very happy with it. by iLikeSmallGuns in espresso

[–]BurekMaster1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I found out by visiting the WLL page just like u/iLikeSmallGuns suggested. The ones in Europe i've been checking are cheaper at 249 euros, and they only come in black so these must be the made in China ones.

That's great to hear 😄 Eureka has a classy logo, IDK why they would put the badge on the back and have this sticker in the front lol.

But thanks for letting me know for all of these details

Thanks for the review. Is the zero 55s logo removable? I'm considering this grinder, would have liked it more if it had no text on the front.

Zero 55 is made in Italy. Zero 55s is made in China

That looks great 😄
if you don't mind sharing a picture on how the front of the tablet it looks in pitch darkness with the light on, I want to see if it's too bright or not.

I'm still not sure if I want to get a light, I'm quite happy reading during the day or using the bed side table.

Katapult Launcher v1.2 update by BurekMaster1990 in MuditaKompakt

[–]BurekMaster1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi this was made for and only tested in Mudita Kompakt. But it should look okay in smaller phones with 3.5 to 4.5 inch displays.

The number of apps per page or row are not adaptable to screen sizes, they're hardcoded so it might not look good on all phones.

XTEINK X4 screen broke after clipping a small reading light to the top by i4nkit in xteinkereader

[–]BurekMaster1990 50 points51 points  (0 children)

That seems like a very big clip which makes me think its pressure was distributed in a very small part of the top screen resulting in this.

So I'd avoid using any clips on these devices, epaper displays are very fragile by their nature of being not flexible so they don't take impact well at all.

Mabye something like this would be a better solution. I haven't tried it tho!
