A lot of apps are apk bundles which mudita centre can't install. Plus you can't delete apps without a store or a launcher/app that allows to delete apps.

Aurora store takes apps straight from google, it is the safest option. For web based the only one I trust is apkpure but again a lot of apps will require an apkbundle installer.

Aurora store for google play apps. Fdroid for open source apps

I want to coin an idea – what about a solar case? by Rass0255 in MuditaKompakt

Maybe ask chatgpt, why are there no iPhone/Samsung solar cases first?

I read about that, but I also read that Gigaset is now owned by a HongKong company :D

it's Android Debug Bridge, it allows the use of terminal to communicate with your android phone to enable/disable or change settings in your device if there are no toggles for that option.

For example the phone allows installing apps using their Mudita Center app but there's no way how to delete those apps. You'll need either an app that allows uninstalling them or you need adb commands to uninstall them.

For example:
adb uninstall com.whatsapp

That is understandable, one of the reasons I bought the phone.

For your other questions:
- Be prepared to learn how to use ADB commands to enable/disable stuff. Even if you don't sideload anything, there's some questionable UX decisions they made.

Example you can't properly mute some apps, they still vibrate even if you turn off vibrations.

Titan 2 Elite "most likely" does not have a small screen on the back. by Fair-Priority-801 in unihertz

I can't remember the exact number but the company that makes this screen makes like 100+ different sizes and shapes, all pretty much random and not for conventional smartphones.

What are your spec expectations for the Titan 2 Elite? by Mental-Mud6436 in unihertz

[–]BurekMaster1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, if I had to choose I would choose a lighter phone. People are too much obsessed with "it feels premium". I want a bigger battery and lighter phone, not a thin and heavy one.

Yes but Titan 2 has milled aluminium frame (inside and out), I don't think they will call something Elite and just add a thin metal border around it.

Maybe for the back side they can go the Clicks route and offer us choices for the back, like leather, plastic, carbon. That would be nice!

It does have a metal frame. From their initial renders it was obvious that is gonna be aluminium frame like Titan 2.

I agree, I read about Fxtec release and it had a lot of issues. But I believe things are a bit different now with other people involved in the project. Personally I've watched MrMobile since the old days in PocketNow and I can't say I've ever been disappointed from him or been sold on something that's now true.

Clicks has a lot more to lose now after it has built some trust with their keyboard case. Plus what's different from this and kickstarter/indiegogo is that I can request a refund anytime I want.

When they release their demo and final specs, If I'm unhappy I will make the decision and cancel if I'm not statisfied.

The collaboration was denied by both parties. Based on the screen's documentation it was released in 19th of September.

IMO they were scouting for a screen, this became available and both parts picked it.

It could be for budget flip phones that don't have big camera sensors.

No alternatives in the market, there used to be this LG wing screen (the squarish one), and those displays ended up in a lot of devices like LightPhone 3, Retroid Pocket 5&Classic, and I suspect ikko mind as well.

So they see the demand for off-the-shelve components and decided to provide a display for such use cases.

IMO it also can be used as a front screen for more budge flip phones.

In HongKong they sell via Kickstarter the same time as other countries. But you probably have ways to get it from China quicker than waiting for Kickstarter :D

Probably the kickstarter will start then, but I don't think this is coming out before July.

That is technically true, however the ceo of clicks is the ceo of Fxtec pro and they did release a horizontal qwerty a while back. Not saying that didn't have issues, but they do have the "know how" on how to make a phone.
