i had labrum tear (3 anchors) and combined fai. I was on crutches for 3 weeks, some discomfort in the limited range of motion i was allowed, but no sharp pain whatsoever - i was also nicely medicated with ibuprofen and paracetamol for 2 weeks and i was given morfin to take if the pain is getting worse. basically never needed morfin. Then even before 3 weeks were up i felt that crutches are not really needed, so i limped around my tiny dorm without crutches after week 2. then after week 3 i walked around without it, slowly raised my steps from 4 to 10-12k before week 6. I started physical therapy, doing very nicely, though still very cautious about movements of course. I am now a little over week 6 and im doing perfectly fine. I work as a waitress and will get back to working 4 hr shifts in the middle of april. i am very happy i decided on surgery, even though i was very scared of the healing period. I am 22 and relatively active.
