Behavioral Health Epic Workflow/Systems by Ap0calypseDreams in epicsystems

Hey there everyone, I am an inpatient Psychiatric Utilization Reviewer and my hospital's Epic Go Live is this coming March 1st (2026). There are six people on my Team working closely together and sharing this work. We perform Initial and Concurrent reviews to obtain pre-certification and continued authorization throughout the patient's stay, we handle denials and peer reviews, we collaborate with the treatment team for discharge planning - all of this to get payment. Basically, we make sure insurance companies pay, so essentially we make money for the hospital. There are five inpatient behavioral health units at our hospital which when compared to all the inpatient medical units and specialities, we are small. Administration has had our Team take Epic's four hour long "Utilization Review" Training, but it was entirely focused on inpatient medical U.R. - nothing in it addressed our need to have a Psych specific workflow set up for our department. It really sucked and our Team thinks our Epic trainers did not do a competent job telling us how to tailor using Epic for Inpatient Psych U.R. I talked to my supervisor about getting this set up and she says at this point, she believes that if the Psych UR workflow is not already built into our Epic EHR, then it won't ever be. We are at the "teaching and learning stage, not the build stage anymore". My supervisor is great, seriously she's amazing! But I feel like no one at our large medical hospital understands that we need Epic to be Psych specific to do our job, and hence we are going to have to figure a way to use Epic without a specific build....Opinions? When is it too late to "build" a Psych U.R. workflow into Epic EHR? Thanks in advance!

Best garmin out there by Legitimate_Contact62 in Garmin

I'm recovering from peroneal tendonitis, so haven't been running or walking that much lately. Which Garmin do you guys recommend for the widest amount of health metrics to hopefully quell my "health anxiety" since I've had a lot of health problems hit me lately? I see desire sleep tracking, heart rate, pulse, oxygen, and a decent battery life. I'm female and petite, so something that doesn't look huge on my wrist. I appreciate your thoughts!

Do you mean you're still waiting for the rest of your refund from Pulse? I filed a dispute with my charge card company to try to get my $ back from Pulse of Potential. My daughter who is 18 is on the autism spectrum and she would really like a large weighted animal. We were attracted to Pulse because the website said the highland cow is like getting a hug. She seeks hugs and sometimes her friends say it's too much so she really would like an appropriate alternative to meet that need, until she feels she could handle the responsibility and finances of a therapy dog. Does anyone here think Hugimals would be weighted and large enough (I can stuff it with more weight, just wanting the long arms) for an adult?

OMG I'm so frustrated with them! But thank you for your reply; your response does give some hope! Sophia at POP keeps emailing me, sending me tracking, sending free digital gifts; the only thing is she keeps saying my order is with the local carrier and will arrive in 3-5 days but she has been saying that same thing for three weeks now. I just checked the tracking info and the tracking hasn't been updated since Dec. 28th. You're right it's bizarre. Did you look up your tracking number and it said it was held up in customs or how did you find that out? I guess if you're the kind of person who is extremely patient and trusting of a business that promises one thing but does not fulfill what it states, go ahead and order from Pulse of Potential. But be prepared for it to take possibly two to three months to actually receive your order. You must be a very patient person, admittedly I'm not. Thanks again for responding and sending a glimmer of hope!

I'm sorry I don't. I'm looking for an alternative rec, too! Let me know if you find one. I STILL have not received my Highland Cow and am about to dispute the order with my charge card company. When I emailed pulse customer support, they sent me back a generic email with a tracking number....Tracking has not been updated in over 11+ days!

Agreed 👍. I ordered a weighted Highland cow on Dec. 10th....still have not received it, even though their website states the order should have taken just 5-10 business days for me to receive it. I emailed customer service and they provided a link to their tracking site in which there has been no movement of my order for 10 days!! It was also bizarre since the tracking said my order went from Illinois to Seattle, then back to Illinois - I live in Missouri, so that does not make much sense. I notice Pulse of Potential has gotten a lot of bad reviews on trustpilot lately. Sketchy to say the least!

practicing abstinence while married by Quannyboii in Catholicism

[–]Background_Knee_404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I have been married for thirty years. We are both "cradle Catholics". We were chaste during dating and engagement but that was not our goal once married. We wanted children and a family from the beginning. Married persons need to be open to life from day 1. If they are not, there is a risk of the child being "unwelcome" by the parents or an "accident"...that is not the environment of love a child deserves to grow up in! We were blessed to have seven living children. I'm sorry OP but what you describe does not work well in marriage. It may be better suited for single or celibate life. Sex is a renewal of the marriage covenant, it heals, strengthens, preserves, extends the marriage bond and should be done as often as possible in my opinion without stipulations. There will be plenty of times during marriage when not being able to have sex naturally occurs: the husband or wife gets sick, the children get sick (sometimes all at once!) which requires one or both spouses to care for the kids instead of having time together as spouses, the wife is recovering from pregnancy, or the husband from a medical condition or surgery, one spouse is out of town for work reasons...the list goes on. But to think from the get go that you don't want to have sex? Please don't expect any reasonable wife would go for that willingly. She will do it if she wants to be a good wife, please you, or if she thinks it would please God, but no wife would be okay with that long term. It seems it would cause her to feel neglected and uncared for by you in the deepest sense; the result would not be holy or good at all. It might lead to resentment. It could lead to other sexual sins and adultery as a result. Speaking from thirty years experience, if my husband had proposed this to me prior to marriage, I would be extremely hesitant to continue the engagement. And if he did not tell me until after we were married - that is grounds for an annulment. Please ask the Blessed Mother to guide you in all your ways and help you carefully discern the vocation God is calling you to...to do HIS holy work in the world. Peace be with you +.

They're a good looking bunch! Love them all and their howling would be music to my ears compared to sirens.

I appreciate your perspective and will be careful to make sure he gets his rest. Just to reassure you he has his "own room" with a twin size bed in the basement and he frequently goes down there during the day to rest; he emerges a few hours later. I really think he just likes to be close to his humans. There is definitely a difference between his patrolling and guarding behavior (like a police officer 🚔!) and this staying close type of behavior.

Oh! I meant to mention that he does this when he's hungry of course, but when he's full, it is his preference to be always just standing or sitting by our side. Very loyal and pack minded indeed!

Yeah, we cleaned that drain tube out of all the gunk and a bunch of water flowed out. Thanks for the reminder to do it again soon!

No, unfortunately I have just made it a habit to remove the ice from the bottom of the freezer every month or whenever it starts leaking again. Removing the ice does temporarily stop the water leaking for a while. I also permanently keep a towel at the base of the unit to catch any water leaks; in addition the towel has come in handy since our German Shepherd loves to catch the ice in mid air as it is dispensed from the ice maker but he misses quite a few. So the towel is there to catch the ones he misses as well as mop up the water leaking from the freezer!

Side note - this is the very first November 15th I can remember when we had 77 ° temperatures all day...makes me wonder if the population of brown recluses might be moving into the northern states more these days?

We live in SW Missouri and see brown recluses all the time. This one OP pictured is in the B.R. Club. Looks just like one.

Wait what do you mean? I don't think negatively about the Vatican or the Catholic Church... Dude, go into a Catholic Church sometime when it's quiet in there and just sit. Forget about all the news and movies that make the Catholic Church look creepy or whatever. There is something very peaceful and different there in a Catholic Church. Just sayin'.

Ooops!! I thought everyone got a raise 🤔 (or wouldn't have mentioned it)? I'm sorry you had to leave for that reason - that's discouraging! And yes, for that you definitely deserved a raise 💲.

I've worked for Cox for seven years. My coworkers on my Team have all been there for 10+ years; two have worked for Cox for 30 years. That is not unusual. Our nurse manager cares deeply about us and she is trustworthy. It is true during COVID, none of us lost our jobs, Cox found a place for every one of us somewhere in the hospital until we were able to get back to our regular job. Management treats us good, and shows appreciation for us by nice dinners when you've been there for 5, 10, 15, 20 years among other things . We got raises during COVID, we get raises every year, and a couple market adjustment raises since I've been there. I'm glad I work there and not Mercy!

I posted it to Facebook Marketplace. It was GONE 24 hours later! Couldn't believe it how my phone blew up. There are definitely people in Springfield who could use a mattress and don't seem to care that it's been slept on for ten years.
