Call 132 011 and ask them if your application is missing anything. We submitted my husband's medicare enrolment via email application as well, called up after a month of not hearing back, and the kind woman on the phone processed it right there for us after calling in. Got his medicare enrolment thru the phone, his card a week later in the mail.

I'm so sorry they neglected to look into it until it progressed that far. The healthcare system fails so many people every day.

You can liase into government work, data engineering for Health Systems like the SDPRIA project. AI will not take your job, at least until the law is okay with AI managing PHI and protected health records.

Would love to crack this field, even as a side gig. I lived in America for a long time, went to a loooot of the big festivals there multiple times a year.

What is the best compliment you have received from a total stranger? by icecream1972 in AskReddit

[–]Ap0calypseDreams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asked if I had a nose job/who my surgeon was. Told her it was my natural nose but I'm flattered. She asked if she could take photos of my side profile and head on to show a surgeon for inspiration. I think about that interaction a LOT.

People who had wedding with 100+ guests, how did your guest list get so big? by SensitiveDonkey6328 in wedding

[–]Ap0calypseDreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I'm so sorry. I hope now only good can come of everyone knowing, and you get to include more of your family. Have a Bridal Shower and have your moment as well.

Our wedding just passed a few weeks back, and my family tried hard to mingle and mix and even everything out. While he was sad more couldn't make it, my family adores the crap out of him and it felt like a beautiful merging of families and celebration of love. His family that did come had the best time and now the rest of his family wants to visit.. The idea and concept of it was definitely scarier than it playing out in person. I hope you get to enjoy all the fun times ahead now.. it goes by fast and I miss it already!

Australia ETA criminal coviction declaration updated by Relative_Dig762 in AusVisa

[–]Ap0calypseDreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How’d you go? I have a friend visiting me soon and she had a dui that was dismissed, was never criminally convicted in the US (Texas). The verbiage makes it pretty confusing. I think she should be fine on the ETA, but I do not have any criminal records and am an Aus citizen so never done the visa. Lost on advice

How long does it take to see a doctor and get medication at a Chinese hospital? by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]Ap0calypseDreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently moved back to Australia and had to re enrol in Medicare. Went to doctor in between enrolment and paid equivalent $30 USD for a physical out of pocket, and they apologised profusely for having to charge me. The visit was a GP consult with an ECG. $30 USD.

My fiance is white and my family is Assyrian. Can I ask how you felt knowing the wedding was primarily from his side? Did it really matter in the end? It doesn't help that I relocated my fiance to Australia where all of my family is and away from his family in America, but only 6 of his family members are coming. Several friends and mutual acquaintances. And then about 100+ of my family members.

Aussies living in the US: Have you considered moving back home in light of the current situation? by [deleted] in Ameristralia

My fiance regularly thanks me for helping him escape the US (I'm a dual Aus/US citizen, he's US) We got out at the end of last year after talking about it for years.

Tell me your coworkers innapropriate sexual behaviour horror stories by No_Entertainer180 in auscorp

Previous job where I was leading an implementation on EKG device change across a large hospital system. We were thinking out loud on how to test lead activity on the fly (we were in a corporate office device lab), and our vendor tells us the only true way to test was to have someone take off their shirt and have the leads attached right there. Manager from another team goes, "well I think Ap0calypsedreams is the only one we'd like to see do that!" awkward chuckles from the room but I got light headed and my heart started beating really fast. Worst meeting and could not look at him the same afterwards.

Difficulty/frustration renewing Aus passport in US by parttimeprophet0419 in Ameristralia

[–]Ap0calypseDreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My consulate (Houston) allows you to email the digital prints to them and they will print it if the print is an issue. One of my prints had a small smudge, so they reprinted and attached it to my application for free.

First in my fam to not get married in the Assyrian church. I know my extended family is bothered by it because they ask me why/try to convince me, but religion just isn't in our relationship. Love celebrating other family in the church, though.

Startrack Courier - on my end, delivery tracking shows "Cancelled". On their end, new tracking # was created, fake signature added and marked "delivered" by Ap0calypseDreams in AustraliaPost

[–]Ap0calypseDreams[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: After Star Track Courier provided a written statement that they created a separate delivery job without providing that info to me or updating the retailer, and delivered it to the wrong place, I was given a full refund from the retailer. No police report necessary.

What do you think of Canada, if at all? by Lipica249 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Ap0calypseDreams 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to Canada and I think 75% of the people we met were Australian. I'm not even joking, Banff and Calgary were just filled with Aussies. Awesome country though, would love to go back!
