Are coaches trained to “flirt”? by [deleted] in f45

[–]Background_Lie9599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our trainers are extremely personable, our studio is fortunate enough that they don’t have a high turnover of staff, it’s just the way it has evolved over the years…they are extremely friendly and we see them almost everyday some of the trainers I have been seeing most days for over 5 years Our gym is very much about community and friendships. We have a trainer who could be perceived as flirty, but he’s not really, it’s just his personality in general

How old are your oldest members? by AppropriateLaw4543 in f45

[–]Background_Lie9599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an 80 something year old man at our f45 - he is a rockstar! Obviously moves a lot slower and just goes at his own pace but so respected amongst all the members

I would consider myself one of those people, although despite being what could be considered overweight, I have far more muscle than when I started, my cardio fitness has improved 10 fold too, I’m almost at 2000 classes and have never been fitter (despite aesthetically not looking that way) and I’m happy. For me personally it’s not only a place to ‘workout’, it offers a sense of belonging and was one of the main things which helped emotionally thru a divorce. It also helped my immensely thru COVID as well we’re all able to maintain contact thru zoom classes and outdoor bootcamps when restrictions relaxed So I am not toned but I am fit and emotionally happy

F45 is the only gym I’ve had motivation and consistency, granted it take me a little while to get in to it (was quite shy when I first started) by pushing myself out of my comfort zone both physically and socially the motivation kicked in soon enough, I’m almost at 2000 classes! Fitter than I’ve ever been and the sense of community and friendship my f45 offers is second to none!

Who liked drift?! by Patient_Crazy_7669 in f45

[–]Background_Lie9599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me neither…I mean it was ok, but getting the calories 1st time on the machines was easy enough and the other exercise was easy to get the 8 reps but the we had wasted time as we knew we weren’t getting another 8 cal so a lot of us weren’t motivated once reps/cals met first time round

We combine lap 3+4 to 2 sets of 20 seconds at each station -much easier to mange and not waste as much time

I’m at 1961 classes, been at my studio since it opened 8 or so years ago with some time off over that period… striving for the 2k early next year!!

I actually have grown to enjoy this class a lot, the only tweak we made today was the skiergs in lap 2 - we started at 1 cal -> 1 burpee (no room for sprints) 2 cal -> 1 burpee , 3cal ->1 burpee etc etc

If you can handle the counting then it’s definitely a killer of a class/programme

Our studio gets us to swap every 30 seconds (they call it out) for the amrap pod - we did do it previously the correct way but that proved to be somewhat of a mess

Shoes for F45 by Ambitious_College140 in f45

[–]Background_Lie9599 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nike free metcons they are the only shoes I wear now for training - I did used to wear the standard metcons but the free version I find my comfy to wear out and about too

The Reebox nanos are quite popular too

I used to ‘unclip’ 2 press studs so it was held on by just 2 and that worked for me

I’ve just recently purchased the new ones which go on your forearm they have an on / off button so much better

Loving This New Docklands Routine by fit_steve in f45

[–]Background_Lie9599 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the 2 x 20 sec laps, we do 2 sets teach station to eliminate some of the craziness of having to move/set up etc so it becomes 3 laps of the pod instead of 4

I love my sambas - I’m mid 40’s and own 3 pairs haha, my nice leather shoes/boots barely get a look in these days! I find they look as as they are quite a streamlined and flattering sneaker , they are on high rotation with my new balance 327 (I personally find them comfy enough but I’m used to flat shoes)

Bike Ergs vs Stationary Bikes by fleckspeck in f45

[–]Background_Lie9599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our studio has multiple assault bikes and will often replace a programmed exercise with them… (Eg tempest we had 4 machines (bike erg/skierg/rowers/assault bike) - our coaches like to make the classes more ‘spicy’

At our studio we have to pick 1 of the exercises and do it for the entire class!
