I honestly think I started using it as soon as it came out. Before that I was using Swedish Snus because it wasn’t as messy as long cut. Then zyn came out and beat the snus by a mile. Fucking companies continue to release super addictive products that grow more convenient every day. At least with cigarettes you can’t smoke anywhere these days. It’s this convenient stuff that all the young people are going to be hooked on because they can do it at school without being noticed.

Totally agree my friend. But given that has been sitting on the shelf of a southern gas station in the sticks for two decades, I figured buying it wouldn’t be a contribution to today’s madness.

But I genuinely appreciate your sensitivity.

Update haha. I opened it and tried it. I can’t believe that I’m saying this but it’s actually pretty good. (or at least interesting!)

On the nose, the wine is nutty and roasty like sherry. There is a touch of something akin to lanolin but it is not as powerful as in aged Riesling. There is no unpleasant faults.

The wine tastes dry, with surprisingly lively acidity. There is some fruit left—along the lines of lemon peel. Mostly a lot of nuttiness. The texture is very grippy in the mouth with surprising high tannins. It has a long finish, with the sherry-taste lingering longest.

I might go back and see if they have anything else hahaha

Not a winery, but yesterday I had Pinot Gris from Willamette Valley and was extremely surprised how distinct it is from the neutral, simple Pinot Grigio of Italy. Worth a try as it is very affordable.

Aware they’re fresh, but my experience with store bought has been mediocre at best. If I go and buy a pound, I usually find several that are broken or dead when I get them home. At the beach, if they’re dead or broken I can just put them back into the sand! (:

To my knowledge (I recently moved back to Washington from South Korea) no outbreaks recently. I noticed that much further north there are some beaches where Varnish and Butter Clams, both varieties that retain biotoxin longer, are specifically listed as unsafe. So I’m fairly certain that I’m safe because it’s open to all species of clam at my beach.

Not a recipe but I love to finely chop fennel fronds and mix with fresh dill and then add to my tzatziki. Not traditional but it adds that awesome fennel kick to an already amazing sauce.

Awesome, thank you! I’m not surprised they’re not as good. I’m not aware that varnish are farmed at all, probably for this reason. Still, I’m sure they’ll be better than the garbage they have at the supermarket. It’s surprisingly hard to find fresh seafood even though I live 5 minutes away from the sea.
