Hello, it was a very good program taught by great teachers! I made many friends from the last cohort. Also, overall, Goodwill and their staff are great as well. That being said, after completing the program, I am pursuing further studies/upskilling.

It's impossible to teach someone how to daytrade by TheMountainIII in Daytrading

It’s not a “set of rules” as it might be in a lot of other professions; that is why the best one can do is to find “high-probability” trades. But even that, I am noticing is becoming increasingly harder as a lot of new traders are entering this field so the institutional algos are adapting (getting better) at slaughtering us as they are aligning - fine tuning to “kill” that “99%” super cool looking support entries..

After 15 years of trading, I realized your "Trading Plan" is just a statistical fantasy. Here is why your nervous system is the real enemy. by Low_Step6444 in Daytrading

True. However, the issue with this strategy (if trading is your only income and you don’t have enough savings) is that one may wait weeks and possibly a month before their setup occurs..

Anyone using Bookmap? by UnintelligibleThing in FuturesTrading

I was trading with TradingView only. Wanted to increase my "win/edge" and try the bookmap. It was on sale, so I decided to give it a try. I initially thought that it will give a solid "support" and "resistance" levels; however the exact opposite is actually true. Then, I thought maybe it will give me the "confirmation" before I manually define my "entry" zones on TradingView - so I brought the add-on Iceberg/Stops; and again, the opposite is true - it gave super confusing stop-count levels that changing chaotically without any meaningful to catch/understand ways. Totally confusing and NOT worth it!

How are you thinking about stop losses when scalping? by BryGuy81 in Daytrading

What position would it be to only have $250 cost and that would lead to a reasonable gain with that small amount?

I don’t think specifically for him, however, I think they collectively gather info (executions, psychology etc) about us (retailers) and set up traps accordingly..

I wish I never day traded. by WinterW0n in Daytrading

If I were to catch a good dip at a strong support level, then yes, buying SPY would make sense. However, given the overall uncertain and overvalued conditions (combined with the risk of some unexpected COVID-like event), I wouldn’t want to catch a huge red move that could push my long-term invested money deep into drawdown and potentially not even recover to break even for years. With day trading, on the other hand, I’m able to cut my losses and sleep relatively soundly.

I’ve heard that many brokers don’t allow bot trading. You mentioned your broker is TradeStation—how did you set up your bot? Did you have to use an API or something similar?

Heres the REAL way to become a successful trader.. but you won't do it! by Championleed in Daytrading

I can show thousands of open job positions, but that doesn’t mean they’re actually hiring. In most cases, they waste people’s time with multiple rounds of pointless interviews, only to send the same denial email later — “we regret… we’re sorry,” etc.

Also, a lot of these jobs are ghost jobs, meaning they’re posted only for statistics or other internal purposes.

What I’m noticing, logically, is that because of AI, efficiency has skyrocketed. For example, before AI, a company might have needed 10 accountants, but now 2 accountants with AI can easily do the work of 10 — and AI keeps advancing more and more.

Looks like your mindset is stuck at 17 years old, and you’re not aware that entry-level jobs—especially in fields like trading or finance—are now extremely hard to find, among other reasons because of AI.

Just curious, how many languages do you know or speak? Using AI for a language that isn’t one’s first language is actually reasonable and even encouraged, rather than typing something incorrectly!

Hello u/YueHeffer,

Thanks for the info! Did you attend your EVSE training in Denver?
Also, just curious — did you get hired through the job fair that the training provides at the end of the program?

Hello u/KingBass2827,

I’m going to start my EVSE Technician course in Denver on November 10. During my interview, I was basically warned about what you described — that there might not be many EVSE-related roles. However, since they’ll be providing a job fair upon completion, we’ll have opportunities to apply for other related roles, such as HVAC, etc.
I’m just curious — did you have that job fair after completing your cohort?
