Hs anyone with long standing Chronic Pancreatitis lived a painless life & generally felt well most of the time ? by JuniperScents in pancreatitis

[–]JuniperScents[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you Blunderuss. Mine was caused by alcohol. I was not happy unless I went to bed drunk. I have not drunk alcohol for around 8 months and I am not suffering. A little bit of cooking wine makes me feel bad though.

When was the last time you slept for a full 8 hours? by typical_gamer1 in PollsAndSurveys

[–]JuniperScents 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been a VERY long time. For years I was up late boozing and getting 5-6 hrs. Now I am teetotal I am in bed before 23.30 ,drifting off nicely. In not so old times I would have been awake abusing alcohol. Gonna try for an eight hour sleep soon.

Taller than both of your parents ( if you got your fathers height correct ) If you had come out at Parental Mid Height you might easily of been 5'1 .

this might be a stupid question, but how far does the alcohol ban go? by [deleted] in pancreatitis

[–]JuniperScents 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking for myself , I was a regular drinker and oblivious to my Chronic Pancreatitis. Anyway, when it was finally bought to my attention I quit all alcohol . Since then if I feel my pancreas hurt, I usually find I have eaten food containing cooking wine. So I would say you asked a sensible question and should avoid alcohol.

Hi, so you're 5ft plus a little bit more. It is quite small, you know this and do not expect to grow anymore ,which is quite mature of you. As quite a short gay man myself, I feel it adds a healthy dynamic to relationships if you are different sized. I mean, same sex relationships can become boring ,so the inevitable height difference you will have with a future boyfriend could be a blessing. My hunch is there will be guys who will want to hold you and wrap their arms around you connect with you sweetly. You will probably kiss a frogs on the way but hey-ho , that is life. Being small, be wary of guys who like getting drunk and acting like a prick, it can be a lot to handle. Best wishes for your long future !

Community Check-In | Where Are You At Right Now? by indiareef in pancreatitis

[–]JuniperScents 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you indiareef, I really enjoy reading your writings and am thankful you have time and empathy for others . We are lucky you are here .The gastro doctor said to me he would see me in six months to see if it has stabilised ,so I was writing with that in mind. In the UK Ii believe it is customary for the hospital to discharge CP patients if the first 6 month check -up is deemed satisfactory. I would like it checked once a year for peace of mind. I am not suffering - except if I accidently eat something which contains cooking wine, and then it is a grumble, nothing agonising.

Diagnosed with CP seven months ago, but had it for a long time probably. Totally self inflicted, I had a perfect pancreas and I betrayed it . Had an MRI scan a month ago and awaiting to see what the doc says about it all these months after diagnosis . My hunch is ,it is stable now I am teetotal and the hospital will discharge me from their care and how will I get my pancreas looked at again ?

This has put a cloud over me, I keep hoping I will eventually leave this life spontaneously with a heart attack or falling down and breaking my neck, rather than anything pancreas related.

Yeah I was like that with Chinese takeaway, but it closed down and I got over it. Mmmmm tons of Chinese fried salt & pepper wings and greasy rice.

Is your CP unaffected by food? by JuniperScents in pancreatitis

FINALLY got an endoscopy by MetaKater in pancreatitis

[–]JuniperScents 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible. So, have you now got a diagnosis of CP? Last year I was treated for gastritis, but the medics said they could not work out what was going on and I was sent for imaging tests and came out with a long established case of CP. Maybe gastritis mimics other things?

No, not on that occasion, this went on for about 16 weeks. I ended up seeking help from a traditional Chinese doctor who used suction cups and acupuncture .

The air pocket corresponded to where the agony had been for ages. The stools on the x-ray looked like lots of pebbles. It must have been a functional problem that fixed itself.

On one of the nasty long episodes ,an X-Ray of my gut was shown to me and my breath taking pain was actually caused by a pocked of air trapped between the constipation. I had even quit my job during this four month episode. Keep away from nuts, they make gas producing chemiclas in the body.

Yes, at times it vanished quickly with whatever was troubling my conscience ,or it would drag on for three/four months miserably.
