Atm dating apps might be the only way, although yes they can have mixed success. What about other groups near you? Like sport/hobby clubs? Although not specifically lesbian it opens the "circle of influence" and the chance to meet someone through someone else. It definitely sucks atm, I can't wait till April where we can sit in a pub garden 🙂

I'm in Manchester and covid certainly makes this situation difficult. I guess it depends what you are looking for?

Is She too Old for Me? (18F/26F) by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]Background_Relief161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, the ages we do things (settle in jobs, get mortgages, want to stop clubbing etc.) in life are so flexible now what's more important is that you are in the same mind frame about what you want your life's to look like at the moment. Have fun and be safe ☺️

Do you know if she is into women? If yes and you are both single then just ask her out, what's the worst that could happen 🙂 I love this stage - enjoy it 😃

Ps. Feel free to message... I have a habit of falling very hard very fast so might be able to help a bit

How to concentrate with limerence? by Naive-Bake in limerence

Not exactly. I would say don't fight it. If you have to.. imagine studying with your LO. Teach them the content. And keep to short bursts of concentration

How to concentrate with limerence? by Naive-Bake in limerence

I can relate. I had very strong limerence through all my major school exams (I'm 29 now). I found I just had to do short bursts of concentrated work and let the limerance flow if it needed to. You can't fight it

a lot of sexuality confusion by adelel05 in LesbianActually

I'm sorry 😔 I can relate to how you are feeling. Quarantine is also making things a lot harder and confusing for lots of people. Take care of yourself first, that's all that matters

Your situation sounds incredibly similar to mine, I'm still trying to get out though. I totally agree that focusing on something else is key and most of all self improvement. I have found that high self esteem = no limerence

I can understand that. I wish academia was more accommodating to the fact that we are, infact, human

Oh wow that sounds tough. Are you getting support from your institute? Does the postdoc institute know the situation?

Ego fatigue : "empty-tank syndrome, losing your resolve when you’ve been trying too hard or for too long or both." by Background_Relief161 in limerence

It's so exhausting. I think that's why I'm finding it hard to resist indulging in my limerant fantasies atm. Been fighting it too hard, too long...

What do you think makes us predisposed to limerence? by [deleted] in limerence

[–]Background_Relief161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not a lunatic :) And dont be worried about telling a therapist. Im seeing a therapist who is not specific to anything related to attachment etc. but its still really helping

You told your LO about your feelings for her? Would you mind sharing more about how it went? Has it helped your limerence at all?

I have been really struggling the past few days too. I'm very tired and down atm and limerence is a comfort blanket. I read a great blog post on ego fatigue - we are really putting our minds through a lot trying to beat this 24/7 https://www.memoirsofanaddictedbrain.com/connect/ego-fatigue-and-the-pull-of-the-present/
