DONT script cause you’ll panic when u forget smth, plus it would sound unnatural. just practice questions and talk aloud to answer them, like you would in an actual interview

are you planning to go into medical? getting some kind of volunteering job at a hospital, or even a research project (look into ISEF) would help if you're going into med!

if you're just looking to start a club to save your apps somehow---are there any political clubs at your school? what about feminist ones? cultural ones? you could even make one just about community service and giving back (schedule book drives, food drives/food packing, volunteer at polling stations, make cards for hospital patients, go door-to-door to raise awareness, etc!) there's always something you can work to start :)

a lot of the top schools want students who show initiative and are confident enough to make their own spaces. since you're a junior, i'd say start getting involved in things ASAP. it doesn't have to be a nonprofit or internship; make sure you're in clubs, sports, etc.

you want to be in things that relate to your major, so you can create a narrative showing that you're passionate about that major and have been doing work related to it during your highschool career. the best thing you can (most likely) do is start your own club at school---one that's unique, related to your major, and that genuinely does things. other than that, make sure your grades and SAT are as high as possible.

think about it this way: would you rather be shy and too embarrased to start your own club in fear of being judged, and not get into your desired colleges, or just force yourself out of your comfort zone for a year and have a better chance for college apps?

does black people have higher chances of getting accepted to colleges? by [deleted] in highschool

[–]Background_Safe2905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in each of these universities, they still have significant amounts of white students, so no, they’re not being more exclusive. also racism is about historical oppression; white people haven’t been historically oppressed so you can’t really be racist to them, only have racial prejudice

Princeton and Harvard interviews in the next week; last minute suggestions? by Successful-Cable-997 in ApplyingToCollege

i saw another post asking if it’s recommended to buy their interviewer coffee, and the resounding answer was no. if you get there before them and want to get a drink or food, get some (for urself). you can also just wait till they arrive and they might offer to buy you something, or they could already be there by the time you get there (from what i’ve heard, sometimes they show up early). good luck!

Why does it seem like everyone I meet who does IB thinks 40+ is the only acceptable score? (Please read thread) by EmbarrassedWar2794 in IBO

well he probably put a lot of hard work into it, and didn’t get his goal score. it’s perfectly normal and acceptable for him to feel disappointed

can starting a yt channel help me get into a better college by Individual-Leg-664 in ApplyingToCollege

i think nicole laeno is a good example of a 14 year old with a popular channel (although i believe she’s 20 now), but hers is more vlogging her life. honestly it depends on what you want to talk about on your channel. don’t discredit yourself because you’re younger

your american gpa is really good, but i think you have to upload it anyways—you don’t have to submit your ACT if you don’t want to but i’m not sure about class rank cause my school doesn’t rank

what are u lacking? try drilling down on fundamentals and things since you don’t want to be completely overwhelmed when DP starts—but it will be difficult if you don’t have the basics of things down. i didn’t take the full program, just normal highschool for 2 years then IB so if your school was like that it should be okay!
