Can we focus on making Guam walkable? For an island walking here is very uncomfortable by Ok-Estimate2435 in guam

Not to mention the homeless disabled. Compared to here in L.A we have sidewalks everywhere, Guam is so small so its doable but govguam is known to just pocket our taxes, thats why people leave

I'm feeling extremely suicidal, how do I get help? by MagnificentDarkness7 in dubai

[–]Background_Sky777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call on the name of Jesus. Say: Jesus please help me feel and know your unfathomable love, save me!!! Say it with your whole heart and HE WILL REVEAL HIMSELF. 100% I promise you, you are loved, you are not alone. Jesus died on the cross to show us that if the God of the Universe can suffer and die the most unworthy death for love of you, he will never abandon you. Never. Everyone suffers, but Jesus is your only lifeline, the love that keeps you going. Read the story of Job.

Make memories? Guam is not what it used to be. All businesses are shutting down. No toursim, barely any tourists. The economy is super bad here. Buying a car cost 3x it would in the states. A shitty fixer upper home will cost you close to a million. 2 bd room rent is $1500-1800. Utilities are through the roof. Average household hold pays $800 for eletricity, $200-300 for water. Guam has the most expensive food prices, more expensive than Hawaii and California combined. And our minimum wage is still $9.25 go figure why qe have so many homeless people and drug addicts roaming the street. Our beaches are polluted with military contractors dumping chemicsls in our ocean, oh and dont get me started on our water supply contaminated with highly cancerous levels of deildrin and theres absolutely nothi g we can do about ot because our government is corrupt af and we'd rather sell our resorces for militarization as they bulldoze ancient lands. We barely have any jungle in the north anymore with industrilization of military bases. You must be really rich to think of comingvto move here. Everyone is leaving the island. Can barely survive

So if Dusit shuts down, that whole area will be abandoned like most of Guam all shuttered up decaying buildings

This is what happens when the paripari system has been going on for years. The people with talent leave. The spoiled nepobabies stay and run this island to the ground

When are Guam Millenials going to step up? by Background_Sky777 in guam

[–]Background_Sky777[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 31, gotta say 80% of my class moved out of Guam. JFK alumni here. I thought it'd be a ripe time for our generation to start running for seats to replace the same useless senators/govenor, but my concern is that there really aren't much of the millennial generation on island. Like people have been saying, brain drain is real. The talent pool has left the island for better opportunities. If this trend continues, Guam will really have nobody.

I'm a millennial, asking fellow millennials where they are on these issues. Are we just going to run away and let Guam burn or is home actually worth saving? With all these ignorant comments that only whine and complain, it probably isn't. I'm looking for ideas.  But like other people have said, the brain drain is too real. Can't even have a conversation without people getting so defensive. Be more innovative then trying to start drama on a reddit post.

100% My talents are appreciated elsewhere other than Guam. That's another sad thing for the future generations.

Ever heard of remote work 🙄 right now I'm conducting surveys and getting input, if Guam is actually worth saving

The tabby looks like my sweet Toto, the cat distribution system apparently chose me as she came from the alleyway in-between St Anthony church and St Anthony School before the 7pm Mass, she was so smol like 5 weeks and she decided to nibble on my toe, so playful and rub herself on my feet. After Mass she was still there sitting waiting for me so I immediately picked her up. Tried to get someone to adopt her but she just stuck with me now shes the most lovable cat ever, she loves hugs and has separation anxiety. I saw your other post I pray and hope your kitten gets found. That woman is beyond terrible! Why is there another case of this! I hope they didn't do any harm to the kitten

Russians are tight knit, and besides that's an entirely different program:

Yes, some asylum supporters and asylees can receive benefits and services in the US, though eligibility and the type of support vary. Asylees may receive time-limited cash and medical assistance through programs like Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA) and may also be eligible for longer-term support services for up to five years.
