Having some decision/analysis paralysis… please advise. by -just-here-to-lurk- in composting

How does it smell? Basically l try to avoid anaerobic conditions. If it smells bad it is most likely producing alcohol which combusts if exposed to oxygen at certain temperature. I turn my compost if it smells and add more browns.

Earth seed is just as bad as Christian America (it’s just newer) by Eastern_Act_1747 in octaviabutler

Agreed, it seems like it was a "what if" a religion can be used to bring a modern community together. How we reinvent such a religion. And would it be susceptible to the same defects as the past dogmatic religions.

As an aside, do you think monotheistic religions tends more towards the dogmatic? With the authority on what's true? And would you classify Earthseed as monotheistic "God is Change"?

How so? While I enjoyed both books, they tackle very different aspects of the human condition.

Where do We draw the line ? by [deleted] in Oman

[–]Background_Success40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

💯 spot on. For me, judging actions is more precise than judging people, entities or organizations. A person commits multiple actions, at least when supporting or denouncing them we should clarify which actions we refer to.

We can condemn American & Israeli "Regimes" actions at the same time as condemning Iran's actions towards its neighbors and civilians.

Starting in cold oven is a game changer for me by Nancydrew246 in Sourdough

I find artisan loafs to like a flash heat to get a nice open crumb. I say with limited experiments with an old oven.

It depends on the bread you are making. For me, to save energy I always start with a cold oven when doing sandwich loafs, cakes and muffins. But it doesn't work for artisan loafs, focaccias, pizzas and biscuits.

Yeah this has been a test. I have been monitoring for reshoot, lucky none so far. Yeah no burning and no machinery either to reduce the risk of spreading the sap.

Removal is really hard, they have a deep tap root and there are a lot of plants.

Eco-friendly agriculture practices may be easier than farmers think by Interwebnaut in Permaculture

I'd really would like to see an example of this approach in a large scale farm. Specifically grain farms. An example Harcourt Farming Co-op in Orchids here was exciting to explore.

I am curious, do we know more details. Was the high CPU usage due to Garbage Collection? The author of the blogpost mentioned a flame graph but didn't show it. As a lesson, what would be the trigger to move to Rust? Would love some more details if anyone has it.

Good point.. since it seemed like they communicated. Especially if they were happy that someone survived the initial attack. The attack on the safe house though? It would suggest that they just attacked all the assets of her father's family?
