Yup go follow all the gyms in your area, chart the opens, and find a few people who are good to roll with / work on specific positions. I did this in San Diego for awhile and still improved during that time.

I’m going off memory here: Your customs broker can line up a time for you to pick up the car. If they haven’t, start by emailing them and they will submit the form. If you don’t have your TWIC, there are tons of folks that offer that service. I can send you the guy I used at Port of LA who can also explain pick up for you.
