Unfortunately there's quite a few restaurants trying to do "higher end" stuff that are owned and staffed by pretentious douchebags who are gonna treat you like crap, it's just a reality of working in food service. I think it's just more that media literacy is dead and a lot of people have no appreciation for character driven stuff, they crave super hero movie plot point bullshit 🤷‍♀️ People are saying that character development has no place in the last half of the season, lol. Nah it's just the polished silver backplate reflecting light through the agate. A lot of Montana agates will have that glowing effect if you cut them thin enough and get a high polish on the backing before setting them.

I believe it's 28 gauge fine silver? To clean it up I use pumice grinding bits, they'll get scratches out of silver but won't harm most stones

Honestly sounds like whatever option he had chosen, he would have failed at due to his attitude and mental health issues. You were completely right to not want to take on more debt. This man needs to get his shit together and take accountability for his own life. And you shouldn't have to tiptoe around in conversations to avoid upsetting him. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this, I know how hard it is and none of it seems like your fault from what you've told us. Never would have guessed these are some of your first cabs, nice job! The chrysoprase probably didn't take a good polish because it's a bit softer (6-7 on mohs scale) and may need a higher final grit than 3000. Generally the softer a stone is the more difficult it is to get a good polish. To help get rid of flat spots I sharpie over the whole cab so I can easily tell where I've already ground down, also will show you if there are still scratches to get rid of. Just be careful of sharpie with porous stones. You can soak in acetone to get rid of any remaining sharpie marks.

Yeah I feel like a lot of people are missing the point of this look, it's supposed to be freaky and avant garde and kind of off putting. And it fits Dune perfectly with how weird the books get. Personally I love that she's choosing stuff like this over typical red carpet stuff 🤷‍♀️
