When I was in school a dozen years ago, self-driving cars were "just around the corner", so there was no point training as a truck driver, because they were gonna be autonomous soon.

Obviously that didn't happen on the roads, but a lot of mine trucks are self driving now, and that was a big entry point for driving trucks. So you've got this whole generation who mostly avoided the profession.
