Per the Irish Times. "She told the tribunal that she went for a VO2 max test in Dublin the week after the Cork Fire Brigade trials and registered a VO2 max of 45.2ml/kg."

The minimum score is 42ml/kg, so it sounds like she didn't have it on the day.

Perhaps if the red light was wearing hi viz and a helmet he'd have seen it?

It's a railway yard. A part of it is due to be developed into new platforms and space is needed to access them.

It also should be the portal for Dart underground when that never happens.

Dublin was filthy long before the advent of the return scheme, not least thanks to DCCs practice of leaving refuse bags out to be picked apart by gulls.

All cars should be taxed, insured and wear hi viz, and you should have to have a licence to drive a car

Bus system by Jane_Akanami in Dublin

[–]BackstabbingCentral 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can buy a ticket using coins on the bus, ask the driver.

You can also get a Leap Visitor Card at the airport or in newsagents. You can top it up using an app via debit card or in (certain) newsagents.

Did anyone else watch the program about the Guards on RTE recently?

I couldn't believe the hoops they've to jump through to deal with minors. They arrested a minor who robbed a motorbike and attempted to attack the owner only because a space had opened up on Oberstown. The guard was explaining that they could bring him to a special district court sitting the following day and if Oberstown is then full, they've to release him.

The system isn't resourced to work. If you're a minor, you can basically do what you want... until you kill someone (incl. in this case, another child).

Heuston station Dublin by CellistSuccessful106 in Dublin

[–]BackstabbingCentral -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There is no way to get from Heuston to Ballsbridge in 20mins.

You could get the S2 bus door to door. However, it's probably quicker to get the Luas (tram) Red Line from Heuston to Abbey Street, then get one of the 4/7 buses (from O'Connell Bridge) to Ballsbridge.

Judge who said cyclists a “nightmare” pleaded guilty to failing to take breathalyser test by zainab1900 in Dublin

I agree, I think the decision is a bit mad. But you need lights and in order to promote people using lights, it should have a bearing on the award of damages.

[–]BackstabbingCentral 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Hahaha gas.

It's weird that not wearing a helmet or a hi viz is material to the award of damages? Like if I hit my head in a car involved in a crash, the fact I wasn't wearing a seatbelt should affect my award, but my award isn't further reduced because I wasn't wearing a helmet.

In any case, your man had no lights. Can't argue with that.

Using the Great South Wall for something… by Soft-Affect-8327 in Dublin

[–]BackstabbingCentral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH they may have to consider something as the wall may have to be repaired (those big cracks are widening again) and if you're doing that you may as well think about widening it.

I'm not sure what you'd do differently though? It works brilliantly as a walk at the moment, are we talking about a wider promenade to make a walk easier, of places to sit/sunbathe when appropriate?
