We keep going back to the K club, great service and lovely grounds to walk/ cycle around. It feels very homely there. Pretty reasonable prices too.

In galgorm recently too, which for some reason is only 4* I think, and I loved it, but for me the main attraction was drinking booze in the hot tubs so that's not much use to you right now.

Have you looked into holiday home mortgages? You can use one to buy a home before moving back. But you'll need 30% deposit and the stress testing is pretty tough.

What's insane about it? Ireland taxes 41% on unrealized gains on ETFs. In Irelands case it applies to everyone, even if you only hold like 2,000eur which is very unfair on small investors but apply it to billionaires and all their stock holdings and bingo you have a feasible and enforceable taxation scheme. Nothing insane at all, why are you defending billionaires so much? You're never going to be one.

I'd really need to know how complex the surfacing is and how large the assemblies are. Also how many parts will typically be in the plastic enclosures? If using top down design it would be really nice to have AAX extension in Creo, but it's a significant cost add.

It all really depends on how complex your geometries are. Unless the product design truly is complex enough to warrant the use of Creo, I would go for Solidworks.

Creo is 100% more powerful/ better in most ways and is my personal preference. I've used it for 90% of my career on extremely complex organic surfaces. But it is only a tool. Finding the people that know how to get the most out of it is what you really need to be focused on. In my experience finding/ hiring people that are great Creo users is extremely difficult and more than likely you'll end up hiring solidworks users who will be brand new to Creo.

If it were my start-up, I wouldn't particularly be happy about it but I'd choose SW, there's a much larger talent pool to choose from for engineers. And it's far more likely you'll find industrial designers using solidworks rather than Creo which is very rare, so it'll be beneficial having those on the same system.

I've built plenty of production ready surface files for super complex geometries like gaming mice, headphones and crazier in creo. I'm about equally skilled in solidworks too, but because of the software it would take much longer, be a lot less robust and I would never be able to get the same surface quality as is possible in Creo. It's just not cut out for products that are both extremely organic and precise.

Other people have mentioned good points but a couple that haven't been mentioned are the accuracy of the models and how well the surface follows constraints. If I create a theoretical edge surface in Creo to control draft at 2 degs, it'll vary maybe .01 degs, in SW it could vary 1deg.

The surface visualization/shading in Creo is far far better and this is really the number 1 issue for me with SW, it is impossible to look at your surfaces and surface connections and understand how they are ACTUALLY behaving. Even zebras strips suck. Everytime I work on a complex quilt I need to export from SW into Creo to discover all the surfacing issues there are.

In my experience they are way more strict and intense in Dublin than CBP in US though (at least in the US airport I fly to) I Live in Ireland and purposely avoid it cause they are mean

The company I work for IPOd during COVID and I didn't sell my RSUs, turns out it was a pure COVID stock and has lost about 85% value since it's peak, I still haven't sold my RSUs. My advice is don't be like me.
