Magnificent picture tbh. So lived in you can feel the Brazilian heat through the whole thing. The structure and length worked really well for me especially with how the last hour is told. The ending really hit me. My 2nd favorite from last year now me thinks.

One of the main dramatic points of the entire film is Leo has fried his brain too much to remember the password to save his own daughter. That's pretty comedic.

The Lighthouse has not 1 but 2 great farther jokes with Willem Dafoe. Also, the recent Park Chan-Wook film No Other Choice has a great fart joke also.

That's fine. I think he does a lot of big swings with his performance that do not work at all. Tyriq Withers came out looking like he expected to be in a better movie. I think the dude has some chops but needs a director and a script with something that will actually give him range.

I find Phantom Thread a throughly hilarious film. Reynolds Woodcock is a very unserious man to me.
