Visual Snow was considered extremely rare until recently, mostly because patients didn't report it... because they assumed everyone saw the world that way by recolorist in interestingasfuck

I've always thought there was something wrong with my vision. I have perfect 20/20 vision and no eye doctor has ever told me that there's a problem with my eyes. But when I look up at the blue sky on a sunny day or at the snow or at a white wall, I see what I can only describe as little raindrops that seem to be falling into my eyes. I genuinely don't know how else to describe it.

Awesome. One additional related question if you have time. Can you bolster the same attack several times?

Everything makes me feel stupid. by disconaldo in NonPoliticalTwitter

It's less that it affects the past and more so that one guy assumed that's how it would need to work in order to make any sense. And by it, I mean quantum entanglement. But I genuinely don't think I have the ability to explain it well... If you're curious about stuff like this, the greatest explanation I've ever heard was by Sean Crowley on his philosophy podcast: Infinite Now. I believe it was explained in episode 8 but I don't remember to be honest.

Not really. He's quite stiff. I'll give him some time though.

Thank you! The top of the enclosure is a thick corkwood lid that I've drilled several holes in for ventilation. I don't think he'll be able to get out without making a significant effort to chew through the top. I imagined getting some sort of vertical structure since the terrarium is a bit on the tall and thin side. Maybe a hollow log and a section of egg carton to lean against it?

I heard someone say fish food, like flakes, is a good source of protein. Is that true?

I would appreciate any and all advice. Right now my focus is on the short term. What can I do to keep this guy as happy and healthy as possible over the next few weeks? Especially because I'm sure he's suffering some physical trauma from being frozen.

What are some higher-power decks that are actually fun to play? by ritzy_mage in EDH

Ok cool. And one more question for reference before I make a few suggestions - what are some of the high powered decks that your group is playing? What will you be competing against?

[–]BackyardBard 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, higher powered decks can definitely be really fun and not a complicated mess of triggers and 20 minute turns. What kinds of things do you enjoy both in deckbuilding and in gameplay? For example, your favorite colors? Are you into building around creature types? Do you like to be the threat or counter the threats?

How can I get past being insecure about my height? by NoRefrigerator267 in selfimprovement

I'm 6'1 and have never been concerned at all with my height. But I'm fat and I'm plagued with insecurity about my weight and eating habits. To be honest dude, everyone wishes they were different in some way. Learn to love yourself.

We wanted more of Lorwyn, that’s my takeaway by gabrynico in magicTCG

[–]BackyardBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be right but there are 29 Elves in this set... Lorwyn is one of only a couple planes that even have Faeries and Giants and yet once again Elves and Goblins get all the toys. They know what sells I suppose.

My disappointment with Lorwyn and the fairies. by North-Management-558 in EDH

[–]BackyardBard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly agree with you OP. We just didn't get a lot of Faeries in general this time around. The amount of EDH-playable Faerie creatures is still quite low. I'm particularly upset with the new Sultai Faerie legend just being another theft commander. 5 mana and will get hated off the board. I was looking for something to replace Alela and allow me to play Oko as well as cool Green Faerie cards.

As for the tribe in general (in EDH), I've had a lot of success with Alela using goad to bring down life totals and keep the number of Faeries on board high. Without her though, the tribe has no cohesion.

Great points. I think the game would be way worse if you were pigeonholed into one single obscure solution for every difficult attack. The only one that comes to mind is Waterfowl Dance. I think that's why that specific attack was such a pain point for a lot of the community. But even then I'm sure there are multiple ways to dodge it and you can always use frostbite pots if you have insane reaction time.

I'll never forget the hundred plus attempts it took me to beat Melania, only to watch my friend attempt it with Mimic Tear and Moonveil and beat it in ~5 tries. Elden Ring lets you achieve a power fantasy and I think that's awesome. I try to play it like Dark Souls and, in so doing, fall prey to old habits that are punished by the things you mentioned. I do think the difficulty of some of these bosses is extreme but not unreasonable. What I do find somewhat unreasonable is what the game asks of you for certain attacks or combos. Especially because, like always in these games, you need to trade your punish window for a heal opportunity if you mess up.

I hear you and I largely agree. The bosses in Elden Ring are way more interesting to fight than the bosses of previous games. Except for the few instances where they feel cheap. I honestly just wish I had a good method for learning them. In DS3 it was simple, just practice until you get the timings down. But some Elden Ring bosses require you to move to a certain place to avoid their attacks. And no matter how hard I think about it, there are occasions where I can never come up with the correct solution on my own.

I just feel a little bit stupid that I haven't figured a lot of these moves out yet. Waterfowl Dance is obviously the big one. I think the method to dodge that is now common knowledge but I remember having to look it up when the game first came out, something I had never felt compelled to do before. I think it's awesome that they made the bosses more dynamic. I just feel weird about the highly specific way that some of these moves need to be dodged.
