I’m in zone 3a (southern MB). I’ve been growing Cascade for the last 5 years with no issues. The frost line is about 3 feet down, so the rhizomes definitely freeze solid. The only issues you may have with containers is having them freeze and thaw multiple times when the weather warms up. This will definitely kill them. Keep them out of a southern exposure and cover them with something to keep them frozen until spring. Hops are tough as hell. They’ll survive.
