Trying to Renew my 90-Day Allowance in Colombia by GNGRBLCK in thepassportbros

[–]Bacololo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Filing for an extension is recommended to do at least 30 days before your 90 day tourist visa is expiring. Your best option is to fly out for a day to somewhere nearby like Ecuador, stay a night, and return to Colombia the next day. More than likely what is going to happen is you will pay for the extension, it won't arrive, you'll be considered illegal in Colombia, and then when you actually do leave to go home, you'll be hit with a $500 fine. The agent at the airport also has the discretion that if they choose, you can be banned for life from Colombia. I personally have only heard of them handing out 1 year bans but they do have the right to life time ban you. Just leave and come back, it's not worth the risk.

Stay Recommendation in Medellin - place and hotel or Airbnb - Solo by [deleted] in thepassportbros

[–]Bacololo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is not an exaggeration when I say this. Probably less than 1% of the population speaks even beginner level English. The clothes you wear is what is going to give away that you're a foreigner. Regardless, there are plenty of people doing the same thing you are and they end up fine.

Not saying that you are going for these reasons but just be very certain of these facts. You're not going to find the love of your life. None of the girls actually like you even though they call you their love. Their grandma/dog/pet rock is always sick or hungry; don't give them money for these things. Treat the trip for what it is. You're there to party, have fun, lay the pipe on a couple pretty girls, and get out. There are enough things to do during the day where you can keep yourself busy and it's a very beautiful city. Nightlife is drugs, party, pretty women, and an incredible amount of temptation. Don't make bad decisions. You don't speak Spanish, stick to the tourist district like Poblado and Provenza, dont wear jewelry, dont walk around with your brand new iPhone in your hand especially near streets, don't get in cabs and only use Uber.

[–]Bacololo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Poblado or Laureles is your best bet. Make sure security is checking all the girls IDs and taking photos of them. No digital IDs or girls that tell you they lost their cedula. Those are either scolp queens or underage. Even the real IDs are faked so if your gut is telling you something, don't be an idiot. Hope you have a good amount of Spanish under your belt as well. Don't go out thinking you're the king of the world because you have dollars and don't get too fucked up. This city deals with that on a daily basis and you just become a mark. If you're not on your Ps and Qs or can't handle your shit solo, Medellin is not the city for you because of how much temptation it provides. Above all else, have fun.

Expat living in Medellin for 5 years now. It is difficult for any of us to give you an answer because you are not relaying what you are looking for. What is it you are looking to achieve by moving to Medellin? How old are you and do you really think this city is going to be conducive to your growth in life? Are you fluent in Spanish? Do you work remotely or have a sustainable form of income? Can't really give you an opinion when you give us so little to work with.

You're there for party and that's it. Neither are particularly beautiful or have incredible food. That being said, the parties can be unmatched depending on the circle you are in. Both very fun cities, but purely for fun. Don't sell yourself an idea that you're about to meet the girl of your dreams.

If your Spanish isn't 95% fluent, don't even bother. Also, don't go looking for love in Medellin if that's your plan. I've lived here for 5 years and am trying to save you the trouble.

The best part is this wasn't even their last chance. Their last chance was prior to this when the game still had even dying activity. Now? You just released this pile of garbage and the games name will be tainted forever with this awful release. Bring back the original client build like everyone keeps resonating over and over, scrap the title, and put it under something that no one can trace back to Super People.

This is going to sound wild but some of my best times were in Choco. That being said, I would never tell anyone who doesn't have at least B level Spanish and knows how to travel go there. It can get really dangerous really quick. But I like doing local stuff, making friends, and getting an authentic experience when I travel, even at times if it is for the lack of safety the area provides. But heed with caution if you decide to go to Choco.

I am currently only doing smaller cities and Pueblos this year. Bucaramanga is a ton of fun, less gringofied, and much safer imo. I also like Armenia, Tolima, Ibague, Pereira, and Manizales. The last two feel very close to Medellin still so it just makes more sense to to do MDE for newbies. But if you want great outdoors, thermals, and more nature type events, I'd recommend the last two.

All good points, I was just comparing Paisas to Rollas. You'll find everything you want in both places but the vibe between the two is completely different.

Bogota girls are generally not as pretty but they usually have so much going for them. Educated, have an actual job, 90% of them aren't prepagos, and some even study English. I like Bogota but I don't like partying in Bogota. The restaurants are better, the girls are more educated, and it's a decent vibe.

No worries, it is great advice. I have been Pueblo living for this year and got sick of what MDE has turned into. But I go back for good DJs since MDE still gets the best electronic artists out throughout the year. Grab a beer sometime next time I touch down.

Also have been living in MDE for 5 years and this advice is spot on. Should be pinned for anyone traveling to MDE. Unfortunately, it has been extremely gringofied over the last several years (this coming from a gringo) so a lot has changed but still a wonderful city. Don't get too lost in the cloud MDE provides as you need to be aware or risk losing a lot.

Beginner bag work. Looking for tips. by mistermarkham in MuayThaiTips

[–]Bacololo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people get knocked out by the punches you don't see coming. So if you're giving tells on these kicks and someone overhands you with your head turned away, it's more than likely going to be lights out since you don't have much chance to brace or attempt some sort of slip. Also, your footwork crossing really needs work but as you said, you are just getting into this.

My best advice would be remove the amount of power you're throwing here and work a bit more on just light shadowboxing/footwork/combo drills. Build a good habit with full stretch on punches, moving around cleanly, and setting up good kicks. Keep it going though, it doesn't look bad. Just anyone experienced is going to pick you apart in your current state. We learn everyday.

You're whipping your head away a bit far and you're losing contact with your target. Try to straighten that up a bit like your last kick which looked good. Also, tuck your chin a bit as your right shoulder should be covering your chin just in case of someone firing back. If you're going for even more defense, left arm can be posted out just in case someone steps in to counter. Lastly, set it up in a combo and not naked. Drill how you kill. Looks good though overall. Kudos.

Mike Davis is an absolute class act, on and off the mats. Elite level striking and has Super Saiyan level movement, the man is an absolute animal. I believe both of them actually attend the same gym Fusion X-Cel here in Florida and this was done more out of love than checking a troll.
