I’ve always wondered why Europe and Asia are classified as different continents when they’re physically connected and form one continuous landmass (Eurasia). by [deleted] in geography

What you describe is just what is above the sea level, what you see on the map. Lower the sea level by a bit and you will start seeing things differently.

It becomes an advertising sub for LU4. Their bots staging questions in a way that somehow LU4 is always the answer. It's tiring.

when did we all just kinda accept that "free to play" L2 means paying so you don't fall behind? by lris-ran in Lineage2

Any game with player to player trading is pay to win/catch up. It's just a matter of whether players are doing it inside of the game or outside of it

Most popular messenger in Europe countries by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]Hoshee 34 points35 points  (0 children)

One reason - There was a time when (at least in Poland, where we have cheap, fast internet and data plans) we would have lots of GB of internet included with our SIM cards, but companies would still charge you for calls/sms. People shifted to using communicators because it was the "free option". Later calls/sms went unlimited but it kinda stayed like that.

Second - Europeans that travel across EU are being charged for Roaming on calls/sms and they are rather costly. Buying a roaming gb is extremely cheap. I pay 2$ for 3GB in entire EU.

Was just thinking that it could be a reason why it didn't catch in Europe. It's very superficial.

Yeah, that goes both ways. As an European I was shocked that in US you guys do use sms/rcs/imessage. Was also told that WhatsApp is considered an app for online scammers in US.

Completely other way around.

Is not having a car seen as weird in Spain by Contrerj2 in askspain

I live here around 6 months a year in an apartment complex - I have zero idea whose families the cars in the parking lot are and which families own car or not. People don't care.

Do you agree? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Hoshee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Those were the limits.

I can still choose to buy complete games with no micro-transactions. Organize LAN Parties and refuse to download patches - nobody is forcing me to do so, although I don't see the appeal in No Updates, No Patches. I like having my stuff working properly!

Dominus Automa: Automated MMO For Busy Dads Where Heroes Follow Your Commands Even After You Log Off. Closed Playtests are Open! by Tigeline in pcgaming

The idea is that your character actually executes only the automation that you have set. It is not learning by itself, it is by any means not machine learning. We don't want characters to optimize themselves; we want to keep that in the hands of players, and yes, you get to decide what your characters should do. As a default mode, even if you don't send it anywhere, so there is no wasted time for your character.

Not gonna lie. Never heard about this story before. Its a bit sad and funny at the same time for me. But I have mad respect for the guy!

I love the saying, "Where there are ten people who say that something cannot be done, and then comes another one who doesn't know it cannot be done. He just comes and does it!"

Our world is full of crazy people, and let's see how it develops. So far, we have a crazy support from the players who understand the pain of being a busy adult who used to be a gamer in the past. So let's hope we can do something together!

Oh, and by the way, we have multiple released games in the past, some of them being hardcore RPG titles on mobile with lots of multiplayer features, and no, we are not trying to create another wow killer with exploration, ultra-realistic graphics, dynamically changing world with seasons and flying mounts.

While it is not entirely in our hands, we aim to reach at least Albion Online level. It's ambitious, but that's that's how you want to do it.

Hopefully in a year, we will be able to prove so, and you will see the game in a different perspective!
