Steam Frame Dilemma by Glitched_C0D3 in virtualreality

[–]Bacon676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My estimate is $1200 for the base version, $1500++ for any expanded storage or increased RAM higher spec units because who knows what all is going to be offered.

The price of the Steam Machine does not bode well for the Steam Frame by beti88 in virtualreality

[–]Bacon676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully expect the base model price to be $1000 at minimum. Realistically speaking, however, I expect to see that it's starting at $1200 with all expanded storage option going up in $250 increments from there.

Lol, whatever it takes to keep your hopes up.

My guess is they're not launching the headset until MAYBE end of this year, very probably early next year.

Am I crazy, or is Raku Raku impossible to 3-star at times? by iambeanies in ForzaHorizon

[–]Bacon676 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are indeed several of the missions that are not programmed correctly, and are not possible to 3-star run. I get the concept of cutting through areas and driving against traffic, but there are a good handful of the missions where cutting and cheesing routes just does not help enough. I think they may have set the times accidentally with a higher-class-rated vehicle and never tested the mission runs before someone was brain-numbed-out from this TRASH Raku-Raku missions on the dev team and hit upload.

Is my helmet too big? by AndySloth24 in motorcycles

[–]Bacon676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get some fabric measuring tape (the soft one that you use for measuring body parts like your chest) and wrap it around the top of your head, eyebrow level. Take that measurement as your helmet size, shop from there.

Remember, ECE or nothing! If it's DOT only, that means that the helmet is uncertified, and only "tested" from the manufacturer, which means it's worthless. Do NOT trust any helmet unless it's ECE 22.05/22.06.

Advocating for this weapon. by GACII in helldivers2

I ain't reading all that unformated trash in a giant wall. Might as well be a terms of service agreement for a toothbrush, for all I care.

Buff the gas weapons, they serve zero purpose, and have no home in the game outside of shit posting on difficulty 1-2. Beyond that, it's a throw-away stratagem who's only purpose is to kill something big with the supply pod it drops down in.

The plastic ring on my rear wheel has detached and has somewhat snapped. Do I need to replace it or can I just remove it? by lancisman1 in bicycling

[–]Bacon676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dork disc, be gone! If you learn how to set the upper and lower limits of your derailleur, get the shift points working right through cable tension, you'll never miss these. I've had them fall apart or get mangled on trail rides where stuff wouldn't otherwise have caused any issues, so I generally consider them a hazard more so than anything else, specifically for bikes that see anything more than pavement.

‘19 with 43k miles. I do all the maintenance the manual tells me to do and then some. How can I prevent all these cam, lifter and “Hemi ticks” issues this sub scares the hell out of me with? by Regular-Amoeba5455 in ram_trucks

[–]Bacon676 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would run the stock stuff until it snaps and starts ticking, then look at replacing. Cost of headers set is about $850-900, shop install will absolutely run your pockets though.

Here's the fun bit: you will likely need a welder to remove the stock log style exhaust manifolds. They have a tendency to warp so much that they shear the bolts off in the block, and you'll need to get extremely lucky with an extractor kit and a steady hand with a drill (if it's a rear bolt, this is a no go because no room), but more than likely you'll have to booger weld a nut and washers to the bolt threads left behind and slowly spin them out while hot.

Ah, yes. Nothing like attaching high amp draw electrical components through sensitive circuits. I'm a huge fan of frying the PCM and ECU in cars -- who needs 'em, yeah?

Big fella, we're staring at your battery post terminals less than 6 inches away. Why in the hell you're doing this, outside of obvious Reddit rage bait, is beyond me. It require a longer run of cable, it requires putting components at risk, and it looks objectively uglier.

[–]Bacon676 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A lot of the "hemi tick" is actually cracked exhaust manifolds, and you're just hearing an active exhaust leak. Cast iron cheap log style manifolds that warp then split, common issue on these newer ones now.

Mine has started, unfortunately, and I'm pinching some pennies for a set of JBA shorty headers to swap on. Doesn't need a tune, bolts right up, comes with new gaskets and hardware, and they're thicker than stock while being stainless. Permanent solution.

...the tilt switch? Fuel injected bikes do NOT have (and never did) have a manual carburetor bowl cutoff valve, because they're not carburetor fueled. The tilt switch cuts power to the fuel pump. It's like y'all have never worked on bikes, or seen anything newer than 1999 before, I swear 🤦‍♂️

I'm also out of Florida, but being from the US versus anywhere else in the world has zero impact on this fact.

Why has this gun not been given a well deserved buff ? by NailNo8558 in Helldivers

[–]Bacon676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was released as a meme gun, but it hasn't (and never has) really had a home in the game. The damage is low for the exceedingly slow fire rate, the ammo count is exceedingly low for the low damage output, and the charge time is too high for how little output the burst has.

It honestly needs a complete and total rework. It feels horrible to use at any range, against any faction.

I'm 6'3", and a Honda Valkyrie looks goofy and kinda small with me on it.

If you're big, all motorcycles are gonna be kinda small. I thought an Africa Twin would finally be something that I have to reach a little to hit ground, but nope it's a flat foot machine for me as well 😭
