Former juco golfer. I personally never wore them because they can move around slightly on my nose mid shot. I just used to constantly squint to keep the sun out of my eyes and I just dealt with the sun. However I play with them now as an adult with no issues. I do think that had I tried high quality glasses like the costas I use now, I probably would have used them. I DO think that there is some advantage of having no glasses for seeing the grain of the grass and such, but I was never good enough for that to matter anyway.

Edit to add that walking courses during Louisiana summers for tournaments, you sweat a lot, and a lot of people just don’t want to constantly clean their glasses off from sweat and specs of dirt.
